A mothers descent into madness after the loss of a child.
Visions of a child no longer there
Sitting in the silence brushing hair
But a mother's hands only feeling the empty air
In a single moment she was lost
No one knew how great the cost would be
seemed like seconds in her memory
Emily Can you hear me
Each and every second like an hour
Every day an eternity of pain that's⁰⁰ left without you by my side
Stuck in a void of no return
The visions of your face within my mind
will haunt my dreams for evermore
Emily Can you hear me
Can you catch me
Can you catch me
Can you catch me
I'm falling

Dark but beautiful. Nice one team!

Nice work. Sounds great. The soaring vocal on the chorus is great. Good frantic guitar work. Well done.
@melaniepegge Feb 2022
So sorrowful and beautiful. I can sense the spiralling grief in the frantic energy of the song. A really heartfelt song.
@richaaaay Feb 2022
Nice guitar and vocal performance. Impressive skirmish. Love'n the little zip in the guitar that happens at some of the chord changes.
@liz561 Feb 2022
the energy of this song really gives you the sense of someone careening out of control. Sad and beautiful.
@jwhanberry Feb 2022
This is a serious piece of art. Brilliantly conceived and beautifully performed. In a skirmish? Amazing.
@berty38 Feb 2022
Repetition can be so powerful in lyrics. This is a heartbreaker.
@thedutchwidows Feb 2022
This is superb! That's a really powerful lyric - "can you hear me" is such a strong evocation of loss; something very primal about it. Excellent skirmishing!
@wylddandelyon Feb 2022
So beautiful and sad. Your voice is powerful and clear, and the accompaniment is nicely unrelenting to back up the mother's grief.
@feb21sundari Feb 2022
wow...I like the beginning it gets straight to the point and played with power it supports the text. In the voice I hear the empathy for the topic - incredibly intense and beautifully done.

One of the most powerful lyrics I have heard this FAWM.
There is an Irish Gaelic song that always brought me to tears, even though I understood very little of the lyrics. Then I discovered that it had a similar theme to this. A mother coming to terms with the loss of her child.
@sw1n3flu Feb 2022
wow really powerful song .... and a bit of tearjerker :(
but bloody good skirmishing....
@andygriff Feb 2022
Ooh I like how urgent and desperate this sounds. Really well done guys. If you record it 'proper', don't lose the edginess there is in this take. Kudos!
@tcelliott Feb 2022
Beautiful but almost frenetic melody. I like your voice on this. (Great vibrato.) I love the haunting quality in this song and the way it has a quite a bit of energy without detracting from the feel.
@mariekevinkmusic Feb 2022
Ha. I hit sent too soon and then got distracted. The wailing is so mournful and there is such urgency in the vocals and guitar parts. Really gripping.
@ajna1960 Feb 2022
Love your lyric, clever and beautiful writing.
You voice adds to the urgency, along with the swirling guitar playing.
@celineellis Feb 2022
Yes!!! Skirmish!!! There is a pace of desperation in the lyrics and the music accompaniment. That’s just awesome
@bethdesombre Feb 2022
The urgency of the guitar part so perfectly underpins the frantic search for someone who isn't going to be found. This is powerful. The switch from "can you hear me" to "can you catch me" is effective.
@mariekevinkmusic Feb 2022
Wow. Great skirmish. Not many words needed to fulfill the brief.
@keithcuts Feb 2022
oh snap this is real talk!
oh man this is deep as the ocean
wellllll doneeeee! super write!
@coolparadiso Feb 2022
lovely from note 1. i am always envious of people who can singr lyrics out that fast! i have to think about staying in tune and need even need oxygen! this is all class. good song in any time let alone a skirmish
@notenkraker Feb 2022
The repetitions really evoke madness, great job!
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
Wow. Great singing and so emotive. Relentless thoughts mirrored in the guitar. Great skirmish.
