Feb 2022 s022022 songskirmish mad
Do you let the fever run?
Wading through the damage done
It’s not the same for everyone
Not the same for everyone
Figure it will be okay
Live to fight another day
Whose problem is it anyway?
Whose body is it anyway?
Every lens is bending light
towards pitch and swagger appetite
every crazy uttered word
where madness reigns and lines are blurred
Someone waves a loaded gun
overwrought and overcome
Do you let the fever run?
Do you let the fever run?
It’s not the same for everyone
Wading through the damage done
Probably not your place to say
Whose problem is it anyway?
when the madness comes to stay
when the madness comes to stay

Love this song and meanings. important themes. Great pulsing backgrounds.

This was great! I love the chord structure - especially the way you break into the new pattern in the chorus - and the tight rhymes of the lyrics. Your vocals sound terrific too. Love the line "Probably not your place to say/Whose problem is it anyway?/when the madness comes to stay." I look forward to listening to more!

This has a great feel to it. Nice easy guitar, smooth melody. Really great chord choice to portray the lyrics right. Nice work
@cicpisces Feb 2022
Calm delivery with an infectious beat. Good music to deliver a poignant message. You describe the craziness in a clear way. Nice.
@j8e2t56 Feb 2022
I like the contrast created with a pleasantly chugging guitar strum paired with lyrics that barely shroud the urgency of the message. The couplet, "Every lens is bending light / towards pitch and swagger appetite" is brilliant.
@tjeff Feb 2022
Nice guitar playing and sound. Love your voice, reminds me a bit of Peter Gabriel. I like the musical contrast at the "every lens is bending bright" section.
@kahlo2013 Feb 2022
Cool strum and great sound. Vocals are awesome. Love the insight I the lyrics. The questions work really well in this lyric.
@corinnecurcio Feb 2022
You say so much without being obvious. We know what you're talking about, and you say it in a poetic way. Nice driving guitar and vocal.
@sheilerk Feb 2022
I like how the broader social commentary becomes apparent as the song progresses, all put as questions, in a totally reasonable and measured way. This really resonates with me. The melody carries the urgency of the message without hitting me over the head with it, while the repeated lines give a little extra emphasis where you want it. I think this is excellent!
@jwhanberry Feb 2022
This is elegant poetry. I like how the vocal is behind the guitar for a couple of lines then catches up to finish the verse. Good stuff.
@sw1n3flu Feb 2022
The use of word and line repetition is cool, pushes across the message… agree with others that the guitar supports the vibe of the song nicely - kickass skirmish
@thedutchwidows Feb 2022
This is really nice; the "whose problem is it anyway" line is so beautifully delivered. A real earworm. The guitar has a really nice, laid back drive to it. Pushes the song along without being too in your face about it.
@sheslin Feb 2022
Your rhythmic guitar strum makes me think of a train - or running - cool prosody. I love where your went melodically in your chorus - my ear were dancing!! Your lyrics are very deep and topical for now certainly - a lot to think about. "Whose problem is it anyway" and "do you let the fever run" - great lyrics and they say so much in just those few words. Great song!
@berni1954 Feb 2022
Great driving acoustic riff.
Some great lines that together build up a picture of a society in crisis, without ever openly stating that didactically.
@ajna1960 Feb 2022
Oh very strongly worded lyrics, saying clearly how mad things are in our world.
I really like this song, it's a very strong lyric
@tcelliott Feb 2022
Great rhythm in the guitar and the shorter phrases in the vocal lines work very well with it. This is cool.
@andygriff Feb 2022
Like the momentum and slight unease generated by that insistent guitar. Very thoughtful and an excellent vocal too. Good stuff!
@carleybaer Feb 2022
Nice! I like that the verses enter so late into the measure, it really builds the anticipation. I also really enjoy how this is initially framed as personal but becomes a sort of indictment of society. I got a fever, and the only cure... is reinvestment in our infrastructure and public health & safety!
(full disclosure: I started singing "we're so sorry, Uncle Albert..." before the lyrics kicked in)
@keithcuts Feb 2022
smooth comforting guitar
a lot of thought provoking in your lyrics
great job!
@tunecat Feb 2022
Got a big of momentum with the guitar riff. The lyrics and voice sit well on top of that . Nice rhymes - word/ blurred ( I’ll have remember that one). Nice gentle vocal.
@sunfire Feb 2022
Good sounding tune, vocals, guitar and all.
@coolparadiso Feb 2022
very nice gentle vox that delivers a really interesting thought piece. very good skirmish
