A bit of a tribute to the Grateful Dead, one of my go to bands.
I see that you're back again
Have you been to Grosvenor Square?
You're looking that much older now
With a touch of grey in your hair
Remember Uncle John
How we loved his band
They played all night long
We used to lend a hand
Just another shakedown
Everything's alright
Just another shakedown
I will get by
He told us stories of Casey Jones
How he powdered up his nose
His train picked up the freakiest bunch
Like the girl with bells on her shoes
Her name was magnolia
She was not like other girls
She liked to deadhead begonias
And tuck them into her curls
Just another shakedown
Everything's alright
Just another shakedown
I will get by
Just another shakedown

Saw the title and thought, this seems like a Dead reference. The lyrics are a delight and the musical style is just 'dead' on, down to the soloing style. Could've believed this was on of theirs. Excellent!

There are SO many Dead references in here that I burst out laughing. And you nail Jerry's guitar style perfectly. I saw the Dead twice, back in the day. And even caught Bobby and the Midnites at the Hammersmith Odeon once, complete with Alphonso Johnson playing Chapman Stick...
Sweet song, sweet playing.

guitar and rhythm section evoke the outdoor sounds of the late 60's/ between 1967-69. i saw tje dead more ttan any other band, and it was always in the park. i like how you worked in a lot of thier song titkes and lyrics,

This is such a laidback and cool piece! I love how you utilize some of the Dead's most classic lyrics as a sort of "found poem" for the text, while still finding ways to tie together each motif cohesively. I just covered "Lady with a Fan" alongside my father for a recent gig, so I've been trying to get back into the Dead, rediscovering some of my childhood favorites like "Black Muddy River", "Uncle John's Band", and my all-time fav "Box of Rain". This is an amazing tribute and I was so happy to find it, thanks so much for sharing!

This is so cool! Although I’m getting more of a Lou Reed vibe from this one. Love the guitar noodling all the way through, it’s hard to do alongside a vocal without sounding cluttered. I really enjoyed this. So well done!

Ha! One of my 'go to' bands as well! -- Nice going, working all those references into the lyric- cause, after all, "once in a while you can get shown the light, in the strangest of places if you're looking at it right!" :)
this is great- love the whole way you've crafted this- with that lead guitar not exactly copying Jerry but taking that gentle lead in the way he did.

I've been listening to your stuff, and it all cuts it as usual, but I wanted to compliment this track and the particularly lovely guitar work going on in this one. Thank you for this
