Prompt: A Special or Unique Place
https://fawm.org/forums/topic/12754/
I was host for this skirmish about a special or unique place. This is my special place. I hope it warms up soon so I can resume my sunrise walks.

(tacet) D
Used to think I was a night owl
D Bm
But there’s something about the dawn
Bm Em Em7 Em6
Waken as the light is changing
A A7
And the early birds begin their song
Pull on jeans and an old sweater
Head on out the door
Point my sneakers toward the water
Like 100 times before
Chorus
G
Cause there’s something bout a sunbeam
D
Orange swirls on Georgian Bay
G
Spy a fox and brand new goslings
A A7
Fresh hope arrives with each new day
Say hello to early risers,
Maybe greet a friendly hound,
Decipher whispers of the waves
As my shoes keep time on the rocky ground
(tacet) D
Head back up into town
D Bm
For breakfast and a tea
Bm Em Em7 Em6
Off to work and a thousand duties
A7 D (fine)
But early mornings are for me.

Thanks so much for hosting, Sorry to miss the Zoom. This is lovely, and feels just like being at a lake house up in the morning with the world to myself. That noticing every detail of the early morning. Lovely guitar and soothing singing. Great work.

Beautiful. All of the differences in your text, cutting the extraneous words, are good calls. If you don't mind my saying, the "the" in "As my shoes keep time on the rocky ground" could go and not be missed, too.
This is everything I love, and miss, about a (very rare) early morning.

I'm by no means a morning person but your song sure makes it sound attractive. Wonderful feelings about your morning walk come through very well. It's a good write.
Thanks for hosting the skirmish and the zoom.

Great song, Sean! Highly relatable for me living by the water as you know. I think you captured the morning walk on Georgian Bay perfectly. I think you better talk to your union rep about those thousand duties, though. I only have 75 minutes a week.

Early mornings are great. Best time of the day when everyone is waking up. Very lovely pictures, talk about a painting. Loved your song.

I agree there's something about the dawn, though usually if I'm visiting one it's because I've been up all night. This was soft and lovely. Hello!

Lovely musical painting! I'm a morning person through and through, and I relate to this so much. I love the guitar picking.

Great job capturing a nice place and solo routine. It reminds me of a reservoir I used to regularly walk to from a place I used to live.
