3rd, Final Chapter in the Power Pop Trilogy.
A tune about Redemptive Attraction.
(The "Redemptive" thing sounds deep, don't it??)
I tried the one-note melody thing here...which led to plenty of other notes filling up the background and outside the verse. Inspired by Andrew Gold's music...and a little Motion City always seeps thru whenever you use synths.
BIG NOTE: This is NOT about Religion...read the lyrics just now and it certainly reads like it to an extent lol. Spirituality, though? Yeah, for sure.
Left Brain (Left Brain)
Right Brain (Right Brain)
This sense of Logic Is Insane
Try To
Refrain
From Stepping Outside the Frame
Guarded
Dead Ends
Getting away with Murder My Friends
Somehow It Gets Thru Your Heads
No Hurt/ When You Flirt
Ya got the Dirt Under My Shirt
They’d Clap
When I’d Snap —- Got to Admit I Love That Crap
So what’s the deal with this empty lap
CHORUS
Hard to Believe
In the Fresh and Strange and Out Of Reach
Trust In The Beast
Til you showed me a Higher Peace
I’ve been Waiting for You
(I’ve been Waiting for You)
I’ve been Waiting for You
Got It
Compiled
Organized in your Mental Files
Tender
Surrender
You can Sense what’s Been Hidden for Miles
Big Guy
Ain’t Shy
Til he meets the One who’s Score is Tied
Stick in the Spokes
Of this Trusty Ride
Let Go
Of That Grief
Too Tied up In Lack of Relief
Stockholm
Syndrome
Nervous following just 3 BreadCrumbs
Teach Me Some More than The Zero Sum
BRIDGE
…Step Back…
….And Breathe…
Too Strong of an Approach
Too Close to Read what You Need
Atoms
Please Flow Free
The Pixels or the Paint
Soothe this Soul in Jeopardy
Things happened Oh-So-Quickly
That They Almost Seem Pretend
So we'll Gliiiide/ On thru the Niiiight/ And this May Never End
CHORUS
Hard to Believe
In the Fresh and Strange and Out Of Reach
Trust In The Beast
Til you showed me a Higher Peace
I’ve been Waiting for You
(I’ve been Waiting for You)
I’ve been Waiting for You

Surf rock meets synth pop and oh boy, this is so infectious that I found myself sitting here doing the chair dance even before I noticed the number of psychology references that are sprinkled over it... A work of genius, sir.

Love it! Such a great vocal delivery, backed up so well by the melody, particularly the synth.
Great work!

Love how this drives. Has the feel of a heavier REM track at points. Great lyrics
