Kind of inspired by the right to reply challenge, I wrote a "sequel" song to Talk Too Much by COIN, with a sound inspired by Kishi Bashi's song Honeybody. I had a ton of fun with this one!
never knew how much i missed those
late nights
fluorescent lights
until i was staying up late alone
i took for granted all the
laughter
cause after
came silence
we used to talk too much
now we're saying nothing at all
every word's escaping me
because i'm sure that you've moved on
every word is taking me
back to that place
back to those nights
and all those days when we talked too much
never thought i'd ever miss those
late nights
under street lights
until i was going home alone
i took for granted all the
laughter
cause after
came silence
we used to talk too much
now we're saying nothing at all
every word's escaping me
because i'm sure that you've moved on
every word is taking me
back to that place
back to those nights
and all those days when we
talked too much
we talked too much
but now i know
it wasn't enough
everything we left unsaid
will never go away
one day we will meet again
we'll talk again one day
there's so much i could say
we used to talk too much
now we're saying nothing at all
every word's escaping me
because i'm sure that you've moved on
every word is taking me
back to that place
back to those nights
we used to talk too much
now we're saying nothing at all
i'm not saying anything
because you'll know i can't move on
i can't find the words to say
about that place
about those nights
about those days when we talked too much

That is a great chorus. I love how the strings reinforce the cadence of the vocals in the chorus. I love the juxtaposition of pop rhythm section and orchestra.

Fun track! Great arrangement. I like how the intro gives way to the rhythmic drums and pop melody. I like the contrast between faster sections and longer held notes in the vocal line. Nice!
