My first song written entirely during this February.
My most produced track this year. I tried to dupe those lyrics and did about 8 takes. But, I was learning them as I went so a lot of the lines I couldn't line up exactly. I ended up duplicating one of the better takes as opposed to layering different tracks.
The lyrics read like a romantic relationship song, but I really wrote about a past coworker who blocked me on all social media (even LinkedIn). I knew we disagreed on some things, but I this disconnect after he switched jobs was a bit of a surprise.
A few of the lyrics feel like placeholders that will never be fixed or replaced. :ha, ha:
I think the guitar should be louder in the mix, listening now.
Verse 1:
It bugs me that you hate me
I thought we could be friends
I do not know what I did to make this happen again
It bugs me when you kick me
To the side of the road
I wonder why you left me here standing all alone
Chorus:
The rain Keeps on Falling Down
Verse 2:
I put myself out there
I tried to connect
You pushed me away everything I did you'd reject
Just a simple smile
Or maybe a hello
Every signal I got from you said its time to go
Verse 3:
I do not know the wrong things
That you think I did to you
We never got a chance before you decided we're through
I cannot help but think
Maybe the problem is with me
I don't think I'll ever know the evil that you saw in me

Totally relatable lyrics. Great idea for a song! I’m a big fan of more songs about friendships and platonic relationships!

Love that driving guitar. I can relate to these lyrics. I like the chorus of "the rain keeps on falling down" a lot!
