richaaaay: I had help with this. First off, thanks to @kristi for trusting me with her awesome optimistic lyrics. She hasn't heard this yet so I'm hoping she approves. I sincerely doubt she envisioned this as a blues song but that's how I heard it. Blues with an upbeat and positive sentiment.
Thanks to @serene123 for contributing some vocals. She's so talented and I so appreciate making music with her.
Finally, thanks to my good buddy Sco-EEEEE. I had not seen him in 24 years before he stopped by my house yesterday to make some music. He is one of the most genuine and loving people I know. It was such a pleasure to share this experience with him. Sco-E played the harmonica and shakers on this song.
I Love Every Minute
You make me laugh
When I feel like crying
And I can feel
My spirits rising
You have a way
To turn mad into glad
And just like that
My day isn’t so bad
[ch]
Oh how do you do it
Always at ease
When the water is rising
And the dreams start to freeze
How do you smile
When you’re losing ground
Oh, I love every minute
You are around
I sit and drift
When I’m feeling low
But then you say
Just hold on and row
The wind pushes back
With a power I crave
You have no doubt
I can do the same
[ch]
Oh how do you do it
Always at ease
When the water is rising
And the dreams start to freeze
How do you smile
When you’re losing ground
Oh, I love every minute
You are around
[br]
When I step into trouble
And don’t know what to do
When the sky opens up
And I’m in a foul mood
You see the colors that I cannot
And make sure our time together is never lost
Repeat ch

oh, that is some groovy guitar, no question! So much music made from so few tools – pretty profound. And so satisfying to have these positive lyrics seamlessly married to this sound – it's spare and persuasive and cool.
@ambroise Mar 2022
Nice cross harp. Beautyfull bouncing bluesy guitar. Those words say "I love you" without spelling it. And the two voices, always at ease, with their négligé, soft swing : how do you do it, how much did you please ? I loved every second I heard you sing.

Well if this isn't an all star collab... so cool and slick and the lyric is so sweet and romantic. The happy is catching. Good job all of you. :)
@kajati Feb 2022
love this, lovely arrangement and choice of instruments, all played with deft ability.
a pleasure to listen to.
(i wish I could play the acoustic like that!!)
@colgoo Feb 2022
I love your collaborative approach to setting lyrics to music, Rich. All of you did a fantastic job on this song!!! So good!
@oaksnprairie Feb 2022
Wow! Another fine song, with another great collaboration. You sure do nice work.
@mk2021 Feb 2022
Nice one. I like the phrasing of the lyrics and the harmonies. Good song.
@davidtaro Feb 2022
Rich, this is seriously good work right here! Sorry I’m a bit late to the party with it. Agree with others pointing out how great the mix sounds - it’s frickin’ awesome. Great shaker and harmonica work from your friend, and Serene adds a nice thick layer of class to the proceedings. Special mention for that transition into the chorus, the chord/melody combo there is just delicious. Perfect lyric from Kristi too!
@rgarlin Feb 2022
Dig this! Thanks for sharing, Rich!
@oswlek Feb 2022
Yes! What a perfect campfire number! Great guitar playing and a catchy melody, which is tough to do when you are keeping things at an even keel. Serene's vocals are a gorgeous addition, and the harp is just perfect for the piece. Brilliant ritardando (ha!) at the end of the chorus.
And another great lyric by Kristi. She's like a ready-fro-music wordsmith factory! This is just so tight. Nothing overly fancy, but still creative and interesting. Very relatable.
Stellar work!
@brisk Feb 2022
This is really infectious - the upbeat lyrics, the really collaborative feel... and the shaker! and harmonica! make for just a really smile-inducing song. Everything just complements everything else - the harmonica particularly made me sit up and take notice, and was a really nice choice. But that's only a part of the whole thing. The chorus is really nice. Your voices really chime together too.
@hev Feb 2022
This is so chilled! Makes me genuinely smile - what an excellent team!
@katestantonsings Feb 2022
Kristi's lyrics are always so poignant and special. The harmonica sounds so good! It gives this song such good energy. This is a knockout collab once again. Great musicianship. I agree with Chris below--the mix is pristine, Rich!
@nahlej381 Feb 2022
this jams! the shakers sound good! i know that's silly, but it's not easy to get a good take of shakers without em sounding flat while recording, and the harmonica bites! nicely done! this song is awesome!
@bandybum Feb 2022
ooo funky acoustic and love that vocal tone and harmony
Everything sounding tight and beautifully arranged.
Lovingly crafted so as to make a great lyric shine!
Love the 24 years gap stop-by backstory
@cts Feb 2022
It's moments like this that make me appreciate FAWM so much. The play between the 3 of you is fantastic. I'm a big fan of Randy Newman (seriously) and I get a little bit of that here. I'm going to listen again.
@chrismyth02 Feb 2022
Wow, what a great interplay between both vocalists - they blend well together. That harmonica is badass. The mix is pristine.
@segers41 Feb 2022
I like how you kept it intimate and not overproduced. :)
@kristi Feb 2022
Hey now! This is Super Cooool! I loved every minute of it! (see what I did there?) :)) I'm tapping my feet, shoulders, head you name it! Serene's vocal w/yours sounds so great! And that snappy guitar and harmonica...what drama! Some fine stuff, guys & gals! Thank you so much for this!! Truly a joy to listen to.
@andrea Feb 2022
I love the positive lyrics. Anything that makes me feel good is a win. This is a win. Love the lyrics, the music and vocals. What a sweet collaboration. Really nice!
@sunfire Feb 2022
What a great collaboration! I'm digging this tune. Vocals, guitar, harmonica and of course the lyric too! Nice job everyone!
@nadine Feb 2022
You got the blues! Your vocals work so well together and I loved that blues harp. What agrest collab. You should work together more often!
@serene123 Feb 2022
Infectious this.. What. A. Groove.
@n24 Feb 2022
Sweet, sweet reverb on that guitar and vocals... really clean recordings, I need to get some tips there because I am working with some very elementary technology! The vocals pair up really nicely in this track, you guys are really bringing the duet game! I'm really enjoying that. Ace harmonica work as well, you're doing God's work. Really sweet lyrics too, beautiful sentiments, it's a love song but it's so original! I love the line "When the water is rising, And the dreams start to freeze"
@paulharrison Feb 2022
This is great! Congrats to all contributors...well-written, well-sung, and great instrumental parts! This was fun to listen to...especially since I too was tempted to write for these lyrics. It makes FAWMing a fascinating process to hear what others come up with.
@gm7 Feb 2022
Sweet...love that super cool guitar playing, harb and 2 singers doing singing the blues. Thx for this!
