Feb 2022 indie-pop political random collab
Thanks to @jayjay for the lyrics on this one. A meaty topic to get my teeth into for my third random collab.
The original lyrics-only post can be found here: https://fawm.org/songs/128748/
What will it take to make us see
That we are own worst enemy
World filled with hate, pain and fear
If you don’t look like me you shouldn’t be here
People dying from disease and poverty
When there’s always enough in this world of plenty
We are so blind to reality
The benefit of inequality
The world’s on fire and we watch each other burn
The world’s on fire and we never seem to learn
Don’t seem to realise who is setting the flame
We look at each other for someone to blame
The world’s on fire and we pull out a gun
The world’s on fire and the damage is done
Mr richman shooting rockets to the sky
He knows he’s leaving the earth to die
Money is their god and they pay the Man to agree
Why else is there nothing left for you and me
The world’s on fire and the countdown’s begun
The world’s on fire and there’s nowhere to run
Don’t seem to realise who is setting the flame
We look at each other for someone to blame

Nice one, it has an old fashioned rock feel to it and does it well, very topical lyrics, and good use of vocal layering. #tit4tat

Sounds like a Neil Young jam! Love that guitar, and I'm all in for these kind of messages.

It was set to music!! Makes me think of Go Ask Alice by Jefferson Airplane - great genre for this song. I like the narrow range of the melody - it really makes these great lyrics stand out and the anger and outrage comes through. Awesome guitar solo! These lyrics found a great musical home. Very nice collab. #tit4tat

Cool instrumentation on this, insistent kick drum and gritty bassline keeping this moving. Makes me think of the gif with the dog in the burning the house saying "It's fine. Everything's fine". Good lyrical exploration of the sad state of individualism which may lead to the self-destruction of humanity. Also reminds me of the movie "Don't Look Up". Great collab, fun guitar tones.

Nice crunchy guitar. Good 80s punk-like rock feel to this. Giving me B-52 vibes. Poignant lyrics. Seems to be a lot of anti-war songs going around this February.... I wonder why.... Hmmmm. Anyway, nice collab. Thanks for sharing! #tit4tat

the Lyrics reflect the current sentiment and the state of the world.

#tit4tat: Awesome lyrics with a good message. These music and vocals rock. The melodies are so catchy I am bopping in my chair. The solo is so sweet! What a fantastic collaboration. I love this song :)

I love these lyrics; the chorus is very powerful and the metaphor works on so many levels. The raunchy guitar and the punk-style vocal work perfectly with the song.
@tunecat Feb 2022
Sounds absolutely fabulous. Great lyrics. Armageddon rocks!!
@kahlo2013 Feb 2022
This is a great song! I love the sociopolitical message that comes through so clearly, helped by that really effective chorus. Love the bass and guitars on this. Fabulous sound and awesome vocals!

Hey Andy. Really nice job with the lyrics. The anarchical punk style worked great. Lovely guitar pieces too.
