Need a few objetive ears on different listening devices about this one. How's the mix sound in the real world? I just can't listen and tweak any more today cos I know I'll break it. All critical feedback on production, performance and songcraft welcome. Have at it! Thanks a bunch.
This one started life in 50/90 2014 and only Jesus Christ (and my dear friend Ferry Colyer) know the torments I've been through bringing it to this.
It's to be #41 in the WK100 collection
Oh, as a side note, if anyone on youtube claims mixing and/or mastering "like a pro" is "easy as 1,2,3", they are lying through their amateur click-bait teeth.
Thanks for all the love and support! I really appreciate it.

Mind your manners, baby,
This ain't Redemption Cove
You got feelings that you're dealing with
and an attitude like that just leaves me cold
(Don't leave me cold)
The fear's not well disguised
behind the anger in your eyes
and trust can never prosper
in a place that's filled with lies
(Don't tell me lies)
And if you need to go, then... Godspeed
If you need to go, then... Godspeed
Godspeed your loving back to me..... ah! oh!
(solo)
Godspeed on your journey,
Be all you wanna be
Bring news back from the ice land
and come back to rest with me
(Come rest with me)
And I won't tell you just yet
I'll let you find out for yourself
that the world is full smoke and mirrors
and of smiling faces and crazy places
that'll take you for a ride
and spit you out the other side
and bring you home the lover
that I need you to be....
Bring you home to me
Bring you home to me e e e .....

I'm getting a strong Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds vibe from this, which I love.
This might go entirely against your vision as you have a very airy and dynamic mix going on, but you might add just a bit more compression to the guitar and vocals and turn the bass up just a tad. And some more reverb for the vocals might work too, like @resonut123 said below. Take all this with a grain of salt, though, as I'm listening on my monitor speakers in a room that hasn't been acoustically adjusted.

This all sounds well produced and good to me, the bass sets a good tone and foundation throughout, the ending pacing and conclusion all works out well. #tit4tat.

Dig the Funk groove and sweet tone of the bass and guitars.
The Vibes sound sweet and the sax adds some lower register.
The mix sounds "pro" to me.
Maybe a slight bit more reverb on vocals? Or not?
I Found your Funk Delightful!
#tit4tat1repaid. Thanks Wolf.

I normally wouldn't like the hats that high in the mix, especially with that high of hz on them, but it really works here. Sounds better on my stereo than it does in headphones as well... everything still really clear and balanced out nice, but I'm biased of my old as myself tower speakers LOL. Sounds good to go on my end! Great track too btw! I'm excited for how many of these others I have yet to get to that I haven't heard.

This sounds good to go to my ears. Sweet, uncluttered mix, and the vibraphone really does the business in setting the tone.
And yeah, the 'Produce like a pro' guy is a dick. Ripped off some of my photos for his youtube stream. Never paid for 'em.

Sorry, I don't listen with the headphones on but I love what I heard. Brilliant song, Wolf. I don't know how you manage to make each song so different yet instantly Wolf's! It's really brilliant. Love your vocals and instrumentation and your lyrics are so interesting to follow.
@colgoo Feb 2022
Listened to this with my headphones on and it was a real treat for my ears. Nice work on the production.
@audrey Feb 2022
Wow! Love that opening. What a great beat you've got goin' here. Love the sax, and everything else too for that matter. This crazy lyric really suits this smooth arrangement you've created. Love this so much!
@williamjames Feb 2022
You sound delicious on this. I would listen to this all day and never know that it has been trough such a ringer. Very cool track again!
@thedutchwidows Feb 2022
Really nice. Your voice is so good, and I love the sax and where it sits in the mix - such a small detail, but really well done.
One thing that interests me - when you revisit these songs as part of this project, do you ever revisit the actual audio, i.e. do you re-record anything or are you looking at the production elements only. If you don't re-record, are you ever tempted?
@cindyrella Feb 2022
Sounds fantastic to me! No trouble at all hearing anything. Another winner!
@marijequerida Feb 2022
Hi Wolf, good to see you've been putting out so much music this month, I hope I'll be able to catch up on everything soon. For now, I'm really enjoying this one! It's laid back, groovy and your vocals fit the tune perfectly.
I'm smiling to myself because your song title could be the answer to this question in your liner notes "How's the mix sound in the real world?"
@seemanski Feb 2022
Nothing really stood out for me as needing any work. I just listened and really enjoyed it.
@ferry0123 Feb 2022
The easy going vibe (bass and drums) is very cool in here. I really like that the sax and bells are part of the song! Lovely lead guitar work. Sometimes the echo on the vocals can be regarded (well, in my opinion) as distracting, but there's only a few instances of them. And..
I would level up the rhythm guitar just a notch. Those are my main notes for now.
@robs Feb 2022
Well, if it was up to me (which luckily it isn't) I would use less reverb, level up the sax, mono the drums, and pan the instruments more left and right. But that's probably just a matter of taste. If you're stuck in the mix maybe try a rerecording?
@sbs2018 Feb 2022
Insightful lyrics - vocals are clear, the music has a nice rhythm - sounds totally awesome on my new iPadPro even without headphones. Wouldn’t change a thing!
