Some memories play in your head over and over against your will.
I literally saw a tree fall in my yard a year ago during a windstorm. I wrote this song last night during a windstorm.
I was working on a happy sounding song last night and it sounded so wrong. Maybe I'll finish that one, but it wasn't really clicking for me. So I quickly threw together this dirge.
Edit: some notes for post feb changes. Definitely needs some remixing of vocal volumes. The ending is a bit too long for what it is. If I can play a more compelling and emotional solo, it might be worth making it as long as it is. But as it is now, it feels like it drags on. A few bars of the distortion guitar and solo are enough to get the feeling.
I saw
A tree fall
Didn’t make a sound
The whole way down
No warning
No sign
Suddenly
Twilight
I see the tree
When I close my eyes
It might be
My life
Living in the images
We were silent witnesses
Wishing that we played our roles
Differently impossible
Winds gust
I can’t trust
Protection
Rejection
It’s all past
Dice cast
So why
am I
Living in the images
We were silent witnesses
Wishing that we played our roles
Differently impossible

Like the electronic percussion, the synth tone and the vocal Melody you used.
Interesting lyric and I like how you equate the fallen tree with possibly your life situation.
Cool solo, nice tone.
Yeah, maybe(?) a tad long... Could fade out on the first part of the guitar solo perhaps?
Well done.

Digging the atmosphere of this one. Definitely something hypnotic here. Not a lot seems to happen, yet the song pulls you in and keeps you in its hold. Nicely done.

Very cool. Love the vocal production. Really competent. Lots of nice emotion in your voice. The rhyming couplets work well to drive the melody as well.
