@helenseviltwin, @johnnycashpoint and I got on a Zoom call earlier today, picked six random Wiki subjects and chose three of them using the power of a d6.
We each wrote a backing track for one, a set of lyrics for another and sang the third one .
For this one the split was:
Music - sapient
Lyrics - j$
Singing - H
I'm sending you a postcard
From Île de Ré where I'm a coastguard
Where the wind blows long and hard
It's very pretty, I give it three stars
I give it three stars
I'm sending you a postcard
From the back of my salmon pulse snowboard
On the Mont Blanc massif
Look so hot I must be radioactive
Must be radioactive ...
Must be radioactive!
Paint me like your French postcards!
I'm sending you French postcards
They're saucy, the humour should strike a chord
'Cos you lack imagination -
Not the only one in that situation,
The only one in that situation
Paint me like your French postcards!
I'm sending you a postcard
From Lorient's scenic boatyards
Along with gifts - some French Lard
And a DVD of The Bodyguard
Paint me like your French postcards!

I love this song, not going to lie, I read the liner notes a few times and still not sure how this came together but it's great. It has an early Breeders feel to it but it's a little more slick, in a good way. This was a very fun listen!

I’m not sure I followed how you lot put this together, but wow, such a cool and crazy song. Really liked the guitars on this. A fantastic collaboration.

I felt a urge to hear again this Courtney Barnett & Kurt Vileand song and come back to listen to yours (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHCtH15dpmU). Maybe just because it mention long distance friendship ? Or is it something in the spirit of it ?

This works so well together ! The rough music, the attitude in @hellenseviltwin 's voice on the "wait, what ?" lyrics. i could hear a full album of this kind of stuff.

"Draw me like one of your French girls” Rose (to Jack) in Titanic

brilliant, I give it 5 stars
@emplate Feb 2022
Very cool riffing, and such great vocals! And the lyrics are also great, very fitting to the track. And that breakdown, oh man...
@nancyrost Feb 2022
This made me smile. What an awesome combination of your talents! I love rondos and randomness.
lol at "Paint me like your French postcards!"
@gordon Feb 2022
Lovely stuff! Catchy, nicely produced and very, French! Really good collaboration all round. Good work team!
@nadine Feb 2022
Excellent! What a cool idea to write a song on random articles. The lyrics make sense and the production is just neat. Hope there will come more if you!
@coolparadiso Feb 2022
Yup excellent collab. A really good mainstream style song.very listenable. Interesting how a combination of three doesn't sound really like any if its parts, except a bit of vox.
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
This works so well on all levels. Great vocals, great lyrics, and, for Sapient, restrained but driving instrumentation.
@carleybaer Feb 2022
This works so well! I was bopping along to the verses and then that chorus! Love the sort of garage-band sound. Oooo and then things get weird. I like the brooding intensity of the drums mixed with the absurdity of the lyrics (French lard?? ok). That chorus though. I dig it.
@tamsnumber4 Feb 2022
Nice production, love the guitars and drums, that driving beat is very catchy. The vocal is selling the lyric. Great hook and write. This whole thing sounds sexy, love "paint me like your French Postcard". Awesome collab!
