Feb 2022 acoustic love song collab
(From Paul) What a treat to work on this with Elizabeth! I would suggest you check out her original lyrics on her page because they lovingly stand alone. She was generous in letting me use what I thought was the essence of the song (see below) as I wrote the music. We hope you enjoy it and would love to hear what you thought!
Liz says: I am so grateful that Paul picked up and ran with these lyrics to create such a tender and beautiful love ballad! Absolutely gorgeous and wonderfully delivered sentiment in my opinion! Thank you, Paul!!!!
Time and Time Again — Elizabeth Petty/Paul Harrison
time and time again (you never) fail to show me
that you’ve got my back
time and time again you never expect me to be
(that perfect) person of your fantasy
CHORUS:
time and time I realize that some hearts have plenty
while others lack enough and some are empty
I’m so lucky and grateful that mine is so full….
full of your love
time and time again you never fail to amaze me
with your kindness and trust
time and time again (you never give) up on love
when the times are tough
time and time I realize that some hearts have plenty
while others lack enough and some are empty
I’m so lucky and grateful that mine is so full….
full of your love
(Bridge)
time and time again I want you to know
how much I love you how much I need you
how much I hold you in my heart
time and time I realize that some hearts have plenty
while others lack enough and some are empty
I’m so lucky and grateful that mine is so full….
full of your love

Such an excellent marriage of music and lyrics. This is a lovely, hopeful song. I love that the wonder ("you never fail to amaze me") and the realization that this isn't the only way things could be show through. I especially appreciate the space in the chorus before the "full of your love" line.

This is lovely, the lyrics are really touching and the delivery is very gentle and emotive. I love the first two lines of the chorus particularly, the rhythm in the delivery and the lyrics themselves are really pleasing. Tight and mellow guitar playing which suits the sentiment so well. Excellent collaboration both :)

Nice.

This is really beautiful and I think it's quite the lovely collaboration. You really captured the feel of Liz's lyrics. I love the gratitude captured in these lyrics and I think the sweet delivery of the lyrics and gentle guitar playing fits them perfectly.

Nice playing. So relaxed in your playing and vocal delivery. The chorus is a nice change. Enjoyed the finger (or hybrid?) picking that found its way in there.
