Disappearance
© 2022 Cindy Prince
A missing writer
Off a big sail boat
A shark eaten man
Usually doesn't float
There's only the bones
Left on the ocean floor
It's hard to know
What we're looking for
Chorus
Disappearance
When there's interference
There's no assurance
The body will be found
Disappearance
With so much deterrence
And such abhorrence
All around
Bridge
There's nothing left to decay
All his flesh has been eaten away
There's vague clues
Nothing solid to go on
Some cheats and lies
To follow up on
If it was murder
Someone has to pay
An intense investigation
Is underway
Repeat chorus

Great write Cindy for the challenge. The images and the story are powerful. The piano backing and Bill’s awesome vocals bring it to life perfectly. I love the spoken bit that pulls the creepiness to the story together.

Oooh! Two of my fave writers combining on a dark ballad that holds the attention so well and intrigues so much...well done both Cindy and Bill!

I love the accented first verse.
This works really well as a piano ballad.

Cindy knows I always love her lyrics, but I'd forgotten how much I love it when Bill "noodles" on his piano. (I'm more of a chord pounder--gotta work on my "noodling"...)
I haven't seen the movie either--is it good, Cindy?
Great collaboration, you guys!

I love the theatrical feel. Belongs in some kind of crime musical! I can imagine this would be the first scene setting up the theme. Really cool collab!

A bit gruesome indeed but lyrically well communicated . The piano playing fits perfectly.

Well this was an interesting listen and Cindy's lyrics sum up the story so well. Bill adds his signature piano playing plus his different flavor to the words and phrasing

How good is this? I think the combination of the pretty piano and the gruesome lyrics, with your vocals is a great matchup! Thanks!

Good lyrics there Cindy! (did you know about Sydney Harbour's contribution of chicken wire to cement boot procedures?) Bill's music (and cute piano) gives a small sleepy town feel to it. (complete with bird and children backing!)
