Inspired by various pictures of scared houses/institutions, plus a creepy mask hanging on a door that I decided was called 'Mr Knock'. One of 5 I've written about the same story, but I reckon I'll keep the others 'secret' for my bandcamp subscribers.
Someone has to want what they're selling
Someone has the money to buy
Someone has to pay for the things that they've done
Are you Mr Knock, are your Mr Lights out?
Feed them in and drown out the crying
Drain them all and throw out the waste
Appetitte sated belly all full
Are you Mr Knock, are your Mr Lights out?
We know you well
We've seen your soul
Children should be quiet
Children should do as they're told
No-one's going to speak will we make them
No-one came to answer our prayers
No-one wants to squel but the fires will burn
Are you Mr Knock, are your Mr Lights out?
Spit them out when nobody's listening
Empty husks eaten and chewed
Yes we were scared and yes we're still frightened
Are you Mr Knock, are your Mr Lights out?
We know you well
We've seen your soul
Children should be quiet
Children should do as they're told
Stopping to taste the flower
A rough beast waits to be called
Stopping to sharpen claws
Everyone says they're protected
Everyone says we can't win
Everyone says we're already dead
Well this is the beast, this is the lights on
We know you well
We've seen your soul
Children aren't quiet quiet
Children won't do as they're told

Sweet arrangement and instrumentation. I like those quick little riffs, tight hits and changes through. Nice vocal delivery to top it all off. Big catchy chorus. Love all the little parts coming in and out and rhythmic shifts. Instrumentation has a vibe of the album by Joseph Tawadros called 'Chameleons of The White Shadow...' Which is one of my favorites.

Catchy and great chorus. I like those looping guitars and the way the banjo comes trilling in here and there, together with the shakers. Lots of good things to listen to and well structured. Really enjoyable listen, thanks

The chorus was awesome - so full of layers of sound. The instrumental was great, and the change of mood drew me deeper in.

I love how massive sounding you made all the acoustic parts sound. This is very cool! Very unique. Everything about this is great!

That looping guitar riff in the intro is amazing. This is a brilliant example of how folk music evolved into prog. Your vocals are at the top of your game. Fantastic job Tom.

loving that guitar - off beat, almost reggae and playing some excellent chords! really well crafted, with a great hooky chorus!

That’s some unique and clever guitar playing. Some great hooks and the verses and choruses work so well with the lyrics and melody.
Great breakdown and unexpected change which welcomes the guitar bits that come back in. Very good indeed.
