This is a prefect example of something turning out completely different from my original idea. I had the chorus written and thought this was going to be a "woe is me" piano driven love song. Man, I was wayyy off.
It currently has a Country-ish vibe, but I could see it fitting into other genres with subsequent versions.
The ending is kinda sickening. I contemplated the NSFW tag...
Never thought there would be so much pain
Nothing physical, all in my brain
Come to think of it, it came from the heart
Either way it really did smart
After forever I came out of my cave
Figured things shouldn’t end this way
Called and messaged a few of my friends
It’s time for me to get out there again
Here I am
Looking for love again
Wasn’t in my plans
But that’s where I am
Here I am
Looking for love again
Wasn’t in my plans
But that’s where I am
Again
Started out with some drinks at a bar
Found some prospects, didn’t get far
Tried my luck with a handful of apps
Wrote to plenty, but they didn’t write back
Here I am
Looking for love again
Wasn’t in my plans
But that’s where I am
Here I am
Looking for love again
Wasn’t in my plans
But that’s where I am
Again
On the street
In a twist of fate
She was there
Ready and willing to date
We were steady for a couple of weeks
Holding hands and dancing cheek to cheek
Went to her place saw the floor plans
Why’d she have to be a Raiders fan?
Here I am
Looking for love again
That team is garbage, man
So, here I am again
Here I am
Looking for love again
Wasn’t in my plans
But that’s where I am
Again

"Looking for love again wasn't in my plans BUT..." is so relatable :-)
This is sung with gusto and that sells it for sure! Also the strutting groove.
And it's totally funny how you pivot into this Raiders thing and never come out again. I grew up with the Pittsburgh Steelers as a kid in the 70's, oh how we loved to hate the Raiders. "That team is garbage, man" could be the Dandy Warhols and I mean that as a compliment :-)

Give her another shot, man. Football season is over. (Does CSU play UNLV in basketball?)
Nice take on the "Looking for love" genre.
