Feb 2022 acoustic-one-take
Feels like I'm on the last lap now. Only 3 more needed. Never imagined I'd get this far.
This one came from a suggestion from Mrs R this morning. I didn't quite fancy it, but gave it a go.
After the storm we raised
All of our trees lie flat
Your flowers all look dazed
After the storm we had
But the garden shed
That has survived so well
It looks none the worse
Still too early to tell
After the storm we've had
All our hurts and sores
Our world outside looks so sad
After the storm we have caused
Still that garden shed
It has survived us so well
It looks none the worse
But it's too early to tell
Still too early to tell
No matter how we played it
No matter what the score
We have to own our outcomes
Share them like before
Pick up the leaves and branches
Broken pots and stems
Clear the way to start again
After the storm has passed
And we begin to heal
Can we forgive at last
And make forgiveness real
And that garden shed
That has survived so well
Can it still shelter us
If we want
It will
If we want it to
It will

Really love your voice! Nice job with the lyrics with the garden shed and relationship status after the storm - nice contrast of tangible and kinda intangible. A universal theme as we have all been through storms. Really nice listen!
