Feb 2022 collab moralstory spoken-word
@crutherford sent me lyrics that @freddie13 wrote. Said interpret any way you want and let's see what we can come up with. Well. I always like a moral to the story.
I changed the fairy to an elf, for rhyming purposes only, Bwahahah.
Sounds better with headphones.
Here are Lee’s original lyrics.
Fairy Tale Unicorn
One day long ago in a forest
A Unicorn walked to a child
The little girl was crying
So the Unicorn stood for a while
He asked her what was wrong
The little girl looked up and said
I'm lost and by myself
Cold and I don't have a bed
Then a fairy showed up and said....
Come with me my little princess
And we will show you home
You shouldn't be in this forest
Scared and all alone
Hold on tight to my hand
And we will get you home
The little girl looked up and smiled
And wiped a tear from her face
She took the hand of the fairy
And walked back to her place
The finally arrived at the castle
The king and queen gave her a hug
They thanked the fairy and Unicorn
And showered the princess with live
The little girls looked back and smiled
And waved to them good bye
She will be forever grateful
For that Unicorn saved her life
Yes that Unicorn saved her life.
The Hairy Fairy Story
One day long ago in a forest
A unicorn walked up to a child
The little girl was upset and crying
The unicorn just stood for a while
surveying the situation.
(here is the unicorn looking at the child, hmmm.)
Now the unicorn said, "hey little girl,
what s the matter with you,
hanging round here
you're just lookin' for trouble
just get back home on the double."
The little girl looked and said
I'm lost and all by myself
i'm Cold and I don't have a bed
unicorn whistles,Weeeellll
"you got your problems, but I know an elf"
Elf:
"Come with me little princess
We'll show you how to get home
You shouldn't be out in this forest
By yourself, scared and alone
So hold on tight to my hand
Don't you fret, see we'll get you home"
The little girl looked up and smiled
wiping the tears from her face
She took the hand of the elf
disappearing into the forest,
without a trace, cue the chorus
Meanwhile, back at the castle
The King and queen were hanging around
Thinking any minute
that little girl would be found.
The moral to this story
don't rely on those unicorns and elves
think twice about trusting in strangers
Learn to take care of yourselves.

I’m sitting cross legged drinking my choco milk with big curious eyes hanging on every word. I love the relaxed airy instrumentation lots of different vibes happening together very organically. Almost nap time now I reckon. Really enjoyed this one!!!

Very enjoyable. I like the lyrics and that backing track is cool with the synths and drums . You have certainly progressed over the last few FAWMs with your production chops. But don't give the uke songs!!

What a delight! I felt like I was tucked up in bed and hanging on every word, Great story! Great sonic soundscape to support it. Bravo!!

I loved listening to this story, and have always been a fan of audio books.
I enjoyed your 'added extra' conversation bits in between now and then, really added to the atmosphere.

Oh man your I love that slow beat and the low bassy piano tones coming in on the unicorn part. The way you deliver the story is fantastic! Your voice has such a great quality, it’s hard to put my finger on it but I’ll figure it out. You deliver with great confidence and dynamism which is a bit part of it. This story is fantastic I can see why it was so inspiring to you! You’ve created a great soundscape that moves and twists with the narrative. This is awesome! #Tit4Tat

This was a joy to listen to! The delivery is so good, and I love how the music turns darker and eerier to mirror the progress of the story. I don’t know about unicorns, but I never did trust those pesky elves! #tit4tat

Nice! Fun story and love the spoken voices for characters mixed with singing voice.

This was a production! How far you've developed. I'm quite impressed!

oh Linda you are fantastic! This is great! I absolutely love how this moved - meandering along - beautifully wayward. The way you're working your samples in is getting way more in synch! The moral to your version of the story is an important one. Yup. This was totally kinda jam. You're so fun! xo
