Bill sent me these lyrics and as I know Bill has roots in Seattle - and I'm a BIG Seattle fan of the 90's chick - I just couldn't help going down this route. I've never tried to make a Foos style rocker like this before... Quite pleased with the results!!
Road Trippin'
2022 Georgie Cooper & Bill White
Hitchin in '76 out of Pittsburgh
Got a ride in a vagabond van
A full tank of gasoline
And six cases of empty beer cans
Road trippin'
In the back of a van
I didn’t respond
When he took my hand
Asked where I was
On this sunny day
And why I was
So far away
Road Trippin'
Road Trippin'
I didn't know where they were headed
As long as it was someplace far
In those days I wasn't afraid
To get into a stranger's car
Road trippin'
In the back of a van
I didn’t respond
When he took my hand
Asked where I was
On this sunny day
And why I was
So far away
Road Trippin'
Road Trippin'
I suppose I was asked along
As a spare girl for the extra guy
But I was young to know the score
I just went along for the ride
Road trippin'
In the back of a van
I didn’t respond
When he took my hand
Asked where I was
On this sunny day
And why I was
So far away
Road Trippin'
Road Trippin'
Road Trippin'
Road Trippin'

Yeah, this girl was trippin. The lyrics are a bit disturbing. Sounds like a good time, but...Thumbing for a ride is a thing of the past. The music is awesome, and Georgie sounds great. Love the upbeat groove. It's a cool song! Nice collab :)

Wow, love the groove and the energy! Well-produced track, the mix sounds great. Vocal overlays sound great. I love Bill's lyric and this is no exception. That tight major 2nd harmony after the soft middle part sounds so good!
@helenseviltwin Feb 2022
Supercool! Great punchy rhythms and so much energy on that chorus. Love it!
@seemanski Feb 2022
Big rawkus number this, what a Collab. Loved the bass line and stacatto guitars. Your vocals really deliver the sense of excitement that the lyrics potray.
@wobbiewobbit Feb 2022
love this. so many good bits. that insistent guitar chord opening had me hooked from the start. the harmonies are fantastic, really solid, juicy discords, sounds brilliant. i like that punch of the rhythm of the chorus. so much energy overall. Top, top job, Georgie!
@djtjb Feb 2022
Damn Georgie you absolutely nailed the 90s grunge Seattle vibe. Almost getting a that dog. feel here. But so undeniably you! Great song :)
@raspberry33 Feb 2022
Rocking! As others have noted, this really captures that grunge aesthetic. Excellent vocals and production!
@richaaaay Feb 2022
Seattle grunge! Such fantastic lyrics and the music, vocals and production killed it. As others have mentioned, the guitar playing is epic. Just punches with the proper attitude and vibe. Favorite part was probably the bridge.
@gwyn1234 Feb 2022
This certainly kicks ass and shows your vast versatility as a singer, musician and producer Georgie and really interesting to hear a co-write with the multi-talented @billwhite51 !
@coolparadiso Feb 2022
yup you've captured soft Seatle well! good song lyrics to capture that or the reverse i guess! it is really different for you Georgie!
@blindkiwi Feb 2022
Oh yeah! Love it! Siouxsie and the Foo fighters, with a touch of Tom Petty. Great catchy lyric and fantastic singing!
@n24 Feb 2022
Really tight guitar in this track! The chorus has some excellent close harmonies, the whole track really but the ones in the chorus really pop and feel unconventional in a very good way. The lyrics have a great subtlety and I think that’s really valuable telling a story like this. Ace collab both!
@davidtaro Feb 2022
You’ve definitely nailed the vibe, all that guitar work is mighty impressive, particularly love the high riffy stuff between sections! It almost took half the song before I started to cotton on about where the lyrics were headed, which I actually love - always enjoy songs where there’s a bit of dissonance between words and music (having said that, the staccato delivery in the chorus does hint at something being very wrong). Great collab, although that’s one terrifying road trip!!
@berni1954 Feb 2022
Powerful post punk rocker with a 60s edge. This joyful song puts a bright face on what is implicit in the lyrics that this joyride led to sexual assault, at least.
@dzdandcunfsd Feb 2022
This hit me in my nostalgia Not only the lyrics... as I'm just barely old enough to be able to remember being able to thumb a ride when you needed to.
This also reminds me a LOT of a local(to me) band that split in the early 2000's Smartypants. They were a little more math/nerd rock than just a grungy Seatlle sound, but I think that's just in your guitar and vocal tone this reminds me of them. Great collab!
@nahlej381 Feb 2022
Love that main guitar part the voicing is perfect. Very cool take on this. Bill you’re a badass lyricist as usual. Georgie you killed it!
@sbs2018 Feb 2022
Oh, your vocals put the fun in funky! Totally digging the lyrics taking me back to another time (not me personally). Nice collab!
@cindyrella Feb 2022
Now this funky and yes trippin'! High energy and just wow!
@jerrypettit Feb 2022
I just posted my own Bill White collaboration 6 minutes ago--so I had to listen to this one.
He does do the best lyrics--and YOU do the best music/vocals. I'm literally just sitting here shaking my head as I listen to this. You are SO DANGED GOOD!!
Great, great job on this!
@w1n Feb 2022
Love the energy and punky attitude in the music. Really cool guitar playing and drumming.
@lowhum Feb 2022
Sounds so productive. And I was born when that ride was taken. Nothing better than an indie girl who sings, shreds and drums? Wow!
@keithcuts Feb 2022
So foos in that guitar style! Doooooopeee. Awesome track production Georgie and cool lyrics Bill. Super collab yall
@karlsburg25 Feb 2022
Ahhh well massive congrats to you both. georgie you have totally nailed the seatle sound and its got so much awesome musicality going on. So well produced. And is that you drumming??? bloody amazing. Top stuff
@billwhite51 Feb 2022
fantastic job, georgie. the go gos meet the foo fighters. thank you for this rockin' number!
@driftwood1 Feb 2022
Sounds almost like a 90s cover of a 70s song. Really cool contrast there. The lyric also walks the razor between nostalgia and something potentially darker. Really cool stuff.
@bithprod Feb 2022
Really good collab! Tight rock number. Solid lyrics, and really well played, sung and produced. Simply brilliant work! Radio-ready.
@metalfoot Feb 2022
Yeah, definitely the late 90s/early 2000s guitar rock style to a T! The chorus is worth the price of admission here for sure. Great collab!
@acousticmaddie Feb 2022
Cool collab from two superb musicians. Very well done.
