Back in the seventies I was working in my first ever Saturday job near Marble Arch in London. For some reason the other day I remembered one day finishing work in the afternoon and walking over to Hyde Park where there was a free concert on. I hung around and watched it.
I remember Kevin Ayers being on but couldn't recall much else about it. I subsequently found it featured on a website about festivals; https://www.ukrockfestivals.com/hydepark-6-29-74.html
So from that memory I wrote this Kevin Ayers inspired tune. The girl is fictional - unfortunately!
That concert in the park
We stayed 'til after dark
The music took us away
On that balmy summer day
We walked along the beach
As far as we could reach
We went inside a cave
And listened to the waves
Each day with you was another surprise
I felt I'd found
The girl with the world in her eyes
We always had our dreams
Strange now as they seem
You said you wanted a boat
Spend all your life afloat
Your house was on a hill
I think about it still
Playing your records all day
Whiling the hours away
Each day with you was another surprise
I felt I'd found
The girl with the world in her eyes
World in her eyes

This is beautiful. It is freezing rain with blizzard warnings here today so I loved the warmth of the tune and the theme. The melody sounds very Beatley to me. Nice.

Great title - makes one anxious to know more. A fictional story, but a nice one! A pleasant sound overall, with the acoustic guitar and major7th chords providing a peaceful listen.

Real nice vibe to this one. I particularly like the little embellishments you've added with the electric guitar. I think that touch adds just the right spice. Nice lyrics and sentiment to match the pleasant musical production.

this is a pleasant surprise, I'm glad there's writing here on fawm that consists of multiple instruments at times. A lot of know how in this song too, like using different channels for different strokes of guitar!

Feels like a perfect nostalgia song. It’s soft and reflective, that gentle strummed acoustic works so well with the little noodly moments from the second guitar. Great vocal, mix is spot on, and what a gorgeous title :)
