Staring at the clock
Wearing my drab hospital frock
Nothing matches here
Least of all my bright red socks
The wheel of life turns slowly
Unfazed by corporeal time
My place on the wheel right now
Is not mine to divine
To divine
[Pre chorus]
The clock is approaching midnight
FAWM's bewitching time
Don't know if I'll make it
But I know I won't stop tryin'
[Chorus]
If I am chased by a tornado
Or an angry red capped mob
Do another dance with the devil
Or snub a capricious god
I will write a song this FAWM
I will write a song this FAWM
I will write a song, I will write a song
I will write a song this FAWM
I will write a song this FAWM
[br]
No pleading, bargaining or lawyer-ing up
Will get me to a different spot
Where I am is where I am
It's the sum of all that I've got
All that I've got
[Pre chorus]
The clock is approaching midnight
FAWMs bewitching time
Don't know if I'll make it
But I know I won't stop tryin
[Chorus]
If I am chased by a tornado
Or an angry red capped mob
Do another dance with the devil
Or snub a capricious god
I will write a song this FAWM
I will write a song this FAWM
I will write a song, I will write a song,
I will write a song this FAWM
I will write a song
I will write a song
I will write, yeah, I will write, yeah
I WILL write a song this FAWM

Wow I really felt this one! Actually had some health issues as well during FAWM, so I could relate to Sherrys lyrics. And your interpretation of them is great!
@elainedimasi Mar 2022
This had me at the gloomily sung, and sadly regarded, but cheerily played, "bright red socks." Presage of the red capped mob? I love the contrast between "acts of god" (devils, tornados) and the lawyering-up lament that it's human beings in the way.
Dig the lilt in the piano throughout. Will go listen to the Sherry vocal one now :-)

Had to listen to this after reading the original lyrics. Tim, nice job bringing forth the spirit of Sherry’s words and situation. This is inspirational…
@mikeskliar Feb 2022

@sw1n3flu Feb 2022
Love the evolution of this song. This intermediate phase sets things on their way. WTG Tim!
@petemurphy Feb 2022
A beautiful and passionate performance of Sherry's heavy and powerful words.
Love and respect to you both!
@keithcuts Feb 2022
Powerful lyrics !
The backstory only makes it even more powerful!
Kudos in the performance Tim!
I could see those lyrics rapped too
Awesome collab yall
@gordon Feb 2022
This is a lovely collaboration and you put some real depth into those lyrics Tim. It reminds me of Robert Wyatt, which is high praise indeed. Lovely stuff
@coolparadiso Feb 2022

@blindkiwi Feb 2022

@kahlo2013 Feb 2022
I love the tenacity and courage and commitment to FAWM! Wonderful jazzy feel and delivery! And looking forward to Sherry’s full recovery/return!
@billwhite51 Feb 2022
lyric is excellent and will be even better when de-fawmed. music is pefect and very original within traditional parameters.
@karlsburg25 Feb 2022
Guys this is fantastic. its my fav thing to read the lyrics first and guess how the musician has interpreted it. And of course being Tim i knew it would be a winner but somehow those jazzy blues minor chords seem to work a treat. Sherry i hope you get better soon (not cos i can't stand your voice Tim ;-) ) .
@jibbidy34 Feb 2022
Tim this is great. What you’ve done with Sherry’s lyrics frames that defiance and resolve to be a songwriter no matter what the odds. I went back to read the original post (thanks for the link). Sorry to learn you are suffering with lc Sherry! Through ‘will of the heart’ your songs will out!
