This song is about seeing someone from a distance and they/she/it are just so so cool you are captivated by them. It’s the way they walk, move, talk..etc and your eyes are drawn towards them. Some may says it’s charisma but it’s leans more to the compelling attraction like a sense of awe..hard to explain ...but you get the point.
The song starts out as heart beats (bass) and a reverb vocals which is the voice in your head.
I had the song title as Cool Ways but I think Robyn’s Cool Cool Ways, as she sings in the song, is way cooler. Lol

I think I know the feeling.
Voice treatment (reverb and mooving through space) shoes us someone in a different space, and seeming allways to be a long distance away from us. Music tells both the awe and the feeling of coldness, almost sadness, to see someone so cool.

The panning of the instruments around to start gives a real sense of space in the beginning. Dreamy exploration with undercurrent of danger, and being drawn to danger. Fun guitar solo work in this and many fun tones, including the phasey wash guitar. Fun verby piece.

Mmmm that guitar. Robyn, splendid vocals. It shoudl probably go without saying in some sense, but then you'd not get the applause you should! On the lyrics, yep, beware of being smitten by cool cool ways. It usually leads to disaster! Love the arrangement. I'd happily download this if it were downloadable...
@andrea Mar 2022
Love the hook. Music is nice and the vocals are so good. Wish I had the lyrics to follow along, but totally enjoyed this song as is. Great Collab!
@tamsnumber4 Mar 2022
That is a great track, and production great vocal, very smooth, really enjoyed this, laid back and groovy....
@audrey Mar 2022
Very niiice! This is so smooth and luscious. Wonderful guitar and vocal. Lovely and simple melody that works so well. Beautiful song!
@ayehahmur Mar 2022
That's some great noodling, that is. Feels very free and almost improvised. The sound choices are excellent - the bass has got punch, and the guitar a lovely brightness to counter the mellowness of the EP. And Robyn's voice is fantastic as always. A really satisfying listen.

I like the broken / fragmented start - and how the production closes in as it progresses. Really like how the component parts come together to form a kind of musical fabric - in that sense its quite an unusual texture - but it works really well. Production is nice too - clarity, stereo seperation all in evidence - really interesting track

the mix on the vocal and the way its sung makes me think of the intro songs to 70s movies that I've never seen all the way through, but was captivated by the song. I have no possible idea what movie it was, but the intro was made up of these travelling shots of some inner city or another; nothing in particular, just various neighborhoods with people just going about their business - going to the liquor store, talking on front porches, hanging out on the corner, etc. And there was this song with a lady singing all these short funky riffs, and I don't there were even any lyrics, just a bunch of "mmm hmm" and "yeah yeah"s lol But it was so cool and her voice captivated me.
This is doing that for me here; same vibes.
The funky guitar and bass put me in that era also. Is that an elec piano behind the guitars? It sounds ultra cool whatever it is.
Lovely slick riffs here and there on the guitar, too filling up space where there's no vox.
Love the singing on this. Lots of cool harmonies that sound really good with the guitars. Yeah I agree with the comment about this being trippy; that good trippy that captivates like I was back as a kid watching that old movie intro.
@crisp1 Feb 2022
Very trippy music and arrangement behind a terrific vocal performance. Something about it reminded me of Sade. Anyway, a way cool song!
@edwardsmusic Feb 2022
A very relatable topic! I like the production in this; in particular the vocals, guitars and bass representing the heartbeat. The keys are nice in this too.
@cts Feb 2022
Lava lamp. Black light. Mid temp room. That special smoke in the air. It all sounds so trippy...so cool. I like what y'all are puttin' down with this one. I really, really do.
@amelea Feb 2022
Love those liner notes, totally going through that right now,, compelling attraction, ha. Cool Cool Ways, this is cool cool.
@jaz Feb 2022

@bandybum Feb 2022
Can't seem to pinpoint that time signature, but I love how the song keeps pulling me in with it. Feeling Floyd in here.
Cool guitars, keys and intriguing arrangement and just love Robyn's delivery. Great stuff, guys
@jerrypettit Feb 2022
@robynmackenzie , you've got a crazy good jazz voice.

Very nice collaboration, you guys!
@nadine Feb 2022
I relate a lot to these lyrics. And you both nailed this feeling between awe and envy in such a cool way. Love the guitar tone and the laid back feeling.
@davidtaro Feb 2022
Getting lovely West Coast, Steely Dan vibes here! Great groove, love that wah when it comes in. Super cool performance from both of you, @robynmackenzie really nails the overall feeling in those simple repeated phrases. Nice!!
@spazsquatch Feb 2022
Cool! I was getting lost in the sonic tapestry, almost tripping.
@katestantonsings Feb 2022
You both nailed the cool vibe you were going for! I love the inspiration behind the song. Robyn’s lovely and unique laid back vocals coupled with G’s guitar is bliss! Great collab!
@elainedimasi Feb 2022
This is terrific. Oh your cool cool ways.
Seriously, I am so admiring the sonics in this piece, and the pacing of everything, the cadence of everything. All right in the groove. Super cool cool.
@kenmattsson Feb 2022
Very cool, both vocals and guitar. Very nice pairing of two very talented performers!
@rwhosings Feb 2022
I love the word cool. As a mostly 90's kid, I still say it all the time.
This guitar is sooo cool! It's a great balance between the vocals and the instrument.
Love the sentiment behind the song too.
@richaaaay Feb 2022
Cool ways you are having that guitar in your hand Gm7. Some funk and groove! Nice job with the vocals Robyn. Just sets such a cool mood…
@sheilerk Feb 2022
Oh, nice panning of the vocals there. Nice vocals altogether, as well as that great that base and a really nicely done arrangement. The lyrics say just enough. I could listen to this again. In fact, I think I will!
@nahlej381 Feb 2022
cool cool ways indeed. i dig it. very cool arrangement and very relatable.
