i've been feeling blocked the last few days. ideas haven't been coming as easily and it's been hard to finish songs i've started writing, so i decided to do something experimental.
this is a slightly improvised noisy jam. i had nirvana's endless nameless in mind. i was also thinking about fugazi and slint.
the "lyrics" came from a bunch of old unused ideas i had written down in my notebook.
i figured i'd make a video for it too.
and on the eighth day
man created god in his image
i like to go to places i've never been
while wearing a disguise
tragedy plus time machines
equals comedy
people with glass kidneys
should not pass stones
i'm trying to learn how to be less messy
so i bought a ton of books about organization
but now there's just a bunch of books everywhere
cluttering my apartment
recently i had a really terrifying nightmare
about being back in high school
then i woke up and realized
i'm an adult now
and things are actually much worse
everyone who lives life to the fullest
seems so empty
i collect antiques from the future
i tried to send a text that said
"i'm good. how are you?"
but autocorrect changed it to
"life is meaningless
and nothing happens after you die"
what do you call an expert on connoisseurs?

Great arrangement. Love the rock jam, lots of fun parts.. I like the hits and the parts that get loose and then come back and groove. Spoken lyrics of old notebook ideas juxtaposed over top is fun. I laughed at some of the lines. Some remind me of the old 'Deep Thoughts' by Jack Handey.

I love starting my day with FAWM songs full of angst and humor! Thank you for the inspiration. My take away is that I made it past 30 twice! I can go back to bed now.

Oh I love this track very much.
I like the lyrics and your vocal delivery.
Great swirly guitar chaos.
Yeah, so awesome.

"People with glass kidneys should not pass stones" is a great line. I always like stuff where I can't figure out the chords, too. :) And the lyrics are like John Cage & his zen notebook!

Really enjoyed the music on this. Middle riff really reminds me of something but I can’t remember what. But loved the whole thing. Tragedy lines and the texting bit got a sensible chuckle out of me

Deliciously surreal all around. Sounds like a really cool mess but it's also catchy. It's like biting a juicy looking orange and then it tastes like nougat. It's not what you expected but it tastes great anyway.

Chock full of great riffs. Very cool title. And some thought provoking riddle-jokes throughout. I think I'm picking up on a nod to "Feel Good Hit of the Summer" :D

I like the spoken word. It fits well over your jam.
I loved the verse about organization challenges and it struck a self-reflective nerve. Nice idea and execution.

This video is kooky. Also, this is a lot more musical than a lot of the noise bands I know (the Boredoms, for example). This is pretty cool concept.
