W3 Challenge attempt here. I've been trying to write a song about how this spring could be the best spring of our lives, but it hadn't come together. I happened to realize that "gather" has polysemy, so here it is.
It's a little unlike me to write such a traditional sounding song, but we're living in unprecedented times.
The sun will rise
Every winter ends
Just a matter of time
It’s not if but when
The sun will rise
We just have to wait
Look East tonight
Look past the waves
The trees will bloom
And we’ll all dance
Outside our rooms
Together again
Gather all your people
Gather all your loves
Gather all together
Again
Let’s gather like we used to
After springtime comes
Laughter heals. We never
Knew back then
So gather every flower
Gather on the dance floor
Gatherings are ours
Once more
I remember cities
Meeting up in bars
I remember weddings
Underneath the stars
I remember playing
In the park all day
I remember waving
To a friend across the train
I remember singing
Music from a stage
Family restaurant dinners
Debating who should pay
Gather all your people
Gather all your loves
Gather all together
Again
Let’s gather like we used to
After springtime comes
Laughter heals. We never
Knew back then
So gather every flower
Gather on the dance floor
Gatherings are ours
Once more
People always gather
It’s for what we’re meant
So I’ll just gather all my strength
to wait for winter’s end

I love your voice!

Yeah totally. I’m okay with mask rules going down, but what I’m really yearning for is for it to actually *feel* safe. We’re not very close to that yet, but maybe maybe maybe later this year.

Just realized you are from the Boston area too, so you know exactly what I'm talking about haha.

Nice back to basics tune. The harmonica and acoustic fit perfectly with the sentiment. We just dropped our indoor mask mandate here outside Boston. It's 60 degrees out. Starting to feel like a change is in the air! This notion is very much in the zeitgeist at the moment I think.
