FAWM.org 2022 Song 16.
Some more observational social commentary, and attempts at polysemy. :)
Waldorf Blofeld, '52 Tele, Rickenbacker 4003s Bass, Tama Club Jam.
Can you see the road ahead
Or the road behind you, instead?
Are you clear enough to understand that what you hear
Is not the thing you dread?
Can you see if there is a better way?
Or is your answer as clear as day?
Do you want to find the question first
Before your words become cliché?
Why do you scream when you only need to talk?
Think it through, before you speak
Or things might get awkward
Are there people who believe in you?
Or any people you believe in, too?
If you think about it long enough
The person you believe in most, is you
Can you see the empty road ahead?
Does the emptiness fill your mind with dread?
Are you quick enough to comprehend
That what you fear is something you misread?
Why do you run when you only need to walk
The lies your spread should really stop
Why do you scream when you only need to talk
Think it through, before you speak
Or things might get awkward
Really awkward
I'm just saying, awkward
Because it's awkward

@rayboneor Thanks! Nah, I don't think you're being awkward. So what kind of low-end were you thinking? A deep boomy synth? An octave down bass? Just curious. I love low-end stuff. Which is probably why I love playing the bass so much. Hazah!

There's lots of cool stuff here: the questions, the ominous tone, the guitars, etc. I kind of feel that it just needs some low end to shake our bones, but I don't know anything about recording music. The best part is the end. I love how the kids these days use the word awkward. It's somehow much less judgmental than alternative words, and its great on the page or coming out of your mouth. I hope I'm not being too awkward right now, though I fear I am :)
