Based on true events. I've had this song idea in my head for awhile and this is my first crack at it. I definitely made the melodic choice that every comedy songwriter ever makes when they parody an Irish song and I think I'd like to take another pass to make it a bit more authentic but also it's about being a tourist so the style makes sense. If anyone has thoughts on how one does that that'd be great. I also will build in more verses but this at least gets the ball rolling.
Marked NSFW cuz swear in the chorus. ;)
Three years ago we took a trip to the Emerald Isle
When I think back on it the memories make me smile
We spent a week in dublin, touring museums and bars
And then off to letterfrack twas time to rent a car
Buckle up tight
The left is now right
Try to stay on your side of the line
Take a deep breathe
It’s a gonna be a day
Try not to lose your shit on the road to Galaway
The open road winds round and round mountains so pretty
The world completely changes once you leave the city
It’s over stimulating your brain might overload
Cuz suddenly you might see a sheep in the road
Buckle up tight
The left is now right
Try to stay on your side of the line
Take a deep breathe
It’s a gonna be a day
Try not to lose your shit on the road to Galaway
If you ever find yourself driving on the left side
Here’s a little tip that will reduce some of the crying
Tilt your right hand mirror down so you can see the line
And as long as you can see it you’re doing fine
Buckle up tight
The left is now right
Try to stay on your side of the line
Take a deep breathe
It’s a gonna be a day
Try not to lose your shit on the road to Galaway

You capture the terror of driving on the left in a fun song. The sudden sheep is a nice detail.
Maybe write a bridge from the passenger's point of view--hedgerows and stone walls leaping in front of the car.
