I had a goal to use my ill built gourd banjo/dulcimer in a song this year. It was an experiment that went awry the entire way. It's an old dulcimer with a gourd resonator cause the gourd banjo neck had a few mistakes and I don't like wasting things. This was a fair tuning day. The words are from the weekly challenge. My polysemic word was make. I found a random webpage that gave the polysemic definitive differences as other words. I used those to prompt a rhyming quardruplete. I put a ca-ca-poo-poo load of melisma in there cause there were few words. I guess if you can't say a lot with words you should do it with note. A free for all with very little production help. I threw the first reverbs I saw on everything. The skakere was build by a friend. Pardon the spelling.

Unaware
That someone cares
Using some force
To run its course
Towards the source
A dark horse
I’d appoint
And anoint
Smoke a joint
Become adjoint
Its within reach
Care to teach
Make a speech
I beseech
I represent
And repent
Maybe I’ll vent
When I am spent
When I make

Hey I really like that! There's an almost sitar-like quality to it. I love the tune - it reminds me of the best of Mumford and Sons, without the overwrought lyrics. I think you might want to redo the lyrics, because the tune and arrangement are really fab!

Cool sound from the dulcimer/gourd Frankenstein hybrid. Very effective with the harmonizing vocals, which are really beautiful.

I have to admire the home made instrument! And I am always a fan of the melisma. Good stuff!
