10 points to the person who gets which song I based this track from. Hmm… (nonetheless…true for all of us…)
JUST WITHIN REACH
(Music/lyrics by David Kav.

This is all too familiar and yet it's new again
How could this be since I didn't want this place?
The signs are getting clear but so far to maintain
Am I getting tricked or weary from this space?
CHORUS:
Just within reach
If only I can get out of here
All I'd have to do is step and change my speech
One step to the left would make it very clear
And it's all within this time
That I know I can just get out of here
But these trees and the nature of my crime
Make it hard for me to look away and steer
REPEAT CHORUS
These blinders feel very heavy now
I want to rest for days and days and days
But no one has put me here - so I ask "How?
How and why am I trapped within this maze?"
BRIDGE:
There's only so much one can do
(That isn't true - it's what you feel in cue)
Hopefully it's not too late
(If you're hearing this song - this is your time and fate...
Grab your vibration and make haste and GET OUT!)
This very forest has been sung to me in song
A tune that I took with me not to fall into
REPEAT CHORUS
OUTRO:
The girl was never there since you made it so
The pain is what you feel - you won't let it go
There is no karmic fate - you remain in Hell
There is no key in your hand but the whip is you...
(...now you can tell...)

The vibe of this feels like the ending of one of those films that always gets described as "a taut, psychological thriller." The hero finally sees the maze he's in, but there's nothing he can do about it...
That ominous descending chord progression is perfect for this. The layered guitars sound really great (the chorus on the long chords is very much my sort of thing), but the vocals are quite rightly front and centre. The subtle harmonies really add a lot, too. Really first-rate stuff.

@fonte no bass yet. Trying not to overthink them this year, ya know? But many many thanks! I truly appreciate the compliments!!

Very cool sound! Love the spacey guitars. Vocal kicks arse when it comes in!! What a voice! And great delivery. Is there no bass? I just noticed I couldn’t hear one?
