Eric says: I had this sort of dumb idea for a joke - that turned into a lyric - that then turned out better than I had anticipated. Apparently I tend to write break up songs rather than love songs. (And we only missed Valentines by one day. ;) )
Once I felt where it was going, I knew that I had to have my friend Jason contribute!
There's an alternate version that includes a spoken track by Jason adding more fun jokes and snark - because that's how we roll. You can hear it here:

Thank you Jason! This was a ton of fun!
It’s easy to know
They way into my heart
It’s easy to know
They way into my heart
Just ignore all the layers
Of my pasty thickened skin
then get past the rib cage
And go a couple inches in
It’s easy to know
They way into my heart
It’s easy to know
They way into my heart
They say the stomach is the way
To a man’s heart
But I’m pretty sure
That they’re about a foot apart
And I’m not sure I want to know
Why you want to know
You’ve already cut your way in once
And brought me so low
Why all this talk of anatomy
you’ve dissected my soul
And no amount of medicine
Will ever make it whole
It’s easy to know
They way into my heart
Please leave it alone
I kinda need that part
It’s easy to know

Great lyric and melody. I like the sweet guitar opening and easy pace in this blues tune. Good song.

Great laidback feel and nice arrangement. Sometimes, songs that start as jokes end up being the best. ;) Great solo guitar sections. Has a Clapton vibe, Nice collab.

I'm grinning from ear to ear at the this one. Musically excellent, wittily written, brilliantly executed. :-D

Lots of fun going on in this one, fun melody and hook. Lovely leads! Very cool tunes, gents!

Eric, I love this one. Such clever lyrics with the anatomy. Love the stomach and your heart being one foot apart. The guitar lead is great too. The whole thing works really well. Great collaboration to end up with this gem.
@tspoon Feb 2022
love the sound of this. this really sounds like a great soundtrack to a prestige film or even a TV series theme song on HBO. the music and recording are so clean and gorgeous. great humor in the refrain. really outstanding
@bigmood Feb 2022
ahhh, I love the slow feel, gives me an indie movie vibe (and that line - a couple inches in, that's a winner. damn.) kind of a joke, but hits like it isn't, which is my favorite kind of song.
@ahumburg Feb 2022
Okay, this is awesome. Lyrics are brilliant. I love the lead guitar hook, the chord progressions and how the context of the music and vocal matches the context of the lyrics. Great collaboration guys!

Great job. I dig the line
you’ve dissected my soul
And no amount of medicine
Will ever make it whole
@jdschramm Feb 2022
Hilarious :) Lead guitar sounds great.
@prsongsmith Feb 2022
You had me at "get past the ribcage/and go a couple of inches in" And that brilliant bridge sealed the deal. "Please leave it alone/I kinda need that part" is such a perfect closing. Great production and guitar work, too!
