My neighbor has the cutest dog in the world (Archie). Two months ago, a near-identical cavapoo, also named Archie, came to stay. The two got along famously, but Archie II left on Sunday. How does Archie I feel?
What will Archie do
now that Archie Two
has gone home to
London?
Maybe he'll write
maybe he'll call
but they're both dogs
so they are not
the best correspondents
Archie's wondering where Archie went
is he down the hall or out for a walk
maybe playing ball
on the tennis court?
The sweet sorrow of parting
the faint echoes of barking
a cavapoo duo
now minus Archie Two

They're not the best correspondents....that is awesome...but there is no knowing about their heart and feelings.
You did write and sing with sweet sorrow, this is very melancholy, but I can somehow feel that they really did pass through your heart...

Even it's been long since I had a dog around, I still feel dogs are really good company. I like it you wrote a song about them, and I'm now wondering how dogs experience such things as 'hey, now my play buddy is not around anymore'. With a contemplating look on such matters, it is really nice to hear your perspective, music-wise as well.

So sweet, my dog, Cooper, a golden retriever, had a daily companion for most of the summer, but his buddy had to go back to his home, Coop missed him to the point of depression, but the woman who kept him up the street still walks Cooper every day a few times. Now Cooper's buddy is a daddy, we hear, and the woman went to ween the pups for a month, maybe she'll bring one of the pups home and....
Lovely perspective on a "real" emotion. Very well done.

You know I could listen to you play that nylon stringed guitar all day. This is a great little story, so sweet, so sad, really. Not the best correspondents--you got that right. I love the way you deliver that line. This is all quite poignant, really
