Tried to make this "spooky" but I am not sure I achieved this. I think my voice is too "melodic" for these great lyrics from Cindy
Abandoned Home
© 2022 Cindy Prince
At the edge of a clearing
With paint chipping away
An old Victorian home
White, now faded gray
Many windows were cracked
Yet the drapes were still there
I chose to go inside
And I climbed up the stairs
The wooden door creaked
The entry way was grand
There was no one there
Yet something touched my hand
Chorus
Abandoned home
Where did they go?
Everything was still intact
Abandoned home
Now stands all alone
Why didn't they come back?
Bridge
In an upstairs room
The child's bed is still made
There are dolls and a rocking horse too
Now it seems like a tomb
Where children once played
Now only ghosts are passing through
furn-i-ture was still there
Even a baby's basinet
The spices left in the kitchen
The dining table still set
An old piano in the parlor
Sheet music still there
It's like they all vanished
Into thin air
Repeat chorus

@cindyrella continues with her "Spooky Phase". ;-)
I think your voice is perfect for this song--I particularly like the "spoken" part.
Very nice collaboration!

This is fantastic! I think there is a eerie feel with your wonderful vocals! Your treatment if the bridge really gave me the spooks. I love it. Thank you!

Another excellent treatment of one of Cindy's lyrics. The harmonized vocals do give it a somewhat spooky feel to match the words.
