Recorded in standard tuning using my Rainsong Shorty.
Another year gone by, but it seems that we're still here
Lost some friends, some family, and others we hold dear.
They say time is a river, and it only flows downstream,
and I think you know exactly what I mean.
But while we breath there's hope, you need not question why.
That horse might learn to sing, that pig might learn to fly.
Another step to take, and another day will break
I re-fuse to go softly into that night,
With every breath that's left I'll stand and fight.
No one knows how far they'll bend, right before they break.
And maybe I have reached my fill, of just what I can take.
But even if times may be tough, my cosmic dice grown cold
I'd draw another card before I fold.
Bridge:
And when you think you've finally reached, the end of all your rope,
Never forget the last thing from the box was hope.
I'm tired, oh so tired, and weary all the time
But I won't let it beat me, I'll stand and hold the line
Though the river's rushing forward, and white water's ahead
The Ferryman, can go and soak his head!
'Cause while we breath there's hope, you need not question why.
That horse might learn to sing, that pig might learn to fly.
Another step to take, and another day will break
I re-fuse to go softly into that night,
With every breath that's left I'll stand and fight.
And never go softly into that night.

Great attitude! And I always love references to the horse that might learn to sing. Love your retort to the ferryman.

@cjk sometimes punctuation gets left in after editing. You are right that in English there should not be a comma there. To indicate a slight pause I should use a dash or hyphen.

Love your voice. Great song. It feels so ... timely ;-) I'm totally able to relate to it. Love the line 'The Ferryman, can go and soak his head!' Though I wonder about the comma.
Unrelated: I put up a demo to my filksong "Green Blood".

A very traditional-sounding folk tune with a message of hope. Not sure I understand the title!
