Hearing Cathy Dennis and Natalie Imbruglia in my head writing this down directly to the FAWM site. Not sure how it will work out if I try to demo it. But I thought having decided that the album's working title would be Minutae it needed a title track, to my mind: at least this year!
Edit: as perhaps predicted, it didn't go that way in doing the demo. Not sure how to describe it. If standing in for guitar is the final form or literally intended as stand-in!?
My new shy
Shaking uncontrollably
By reports invisibily
Minutiae
Of my life and head
Self penned poetry
Going to be the death of me
It's not fine
Socially pigpenned
Is that polite code
Confess me
Minutiae
Not just a gift anymore
Not just a game
An unusual journal
Not just a game anymore
A kid's gig, an honest turn
Not just a gift anymore

But yes @rayboneor there may be people I fancy as well as other kinds of social perils involved.

@rayboneor - I am ruefully in two minds about destroying the mystery somewhat but I went from the weird kid who nonetheless was often chosen to read (other people's) poems at school & church (which felt easier than a lot of conversations, a simple gift that came with kudos & simple praise if still nerve-wracking) to a queer still-christian still-married-to-the-guy-waited-for late-diagnosed neurodivergent poet who writes about themselves, understands people don't always say what they mean, and now feels annoyingly vulnerable. The anxious shaking was worst on the walk to my local open mic, though still very perceptible to me at least on the mic. It felt like it might have ruined the performance but the person I told about the nervousness said I didn't look it. An incongruous difference of perspective. But whatever, I'm not sure if I can just breathe through it, it feels that bad, and I wonder if unconsciously I'm a masking genius: it's not very healthy.

I've read this a number of times, trying to parse it. There's a certain mystery here, though I have my suspicions. At any rate, I read it through my own lens as an occasional "musician" putting myself out there during the month of February. It has a great sense of flow and rhythm, and, personally, I love that you don't quite spell it out for us

Love this, My New Shy is inspired. I agree it would be interesting to put this to music, bit I could totally see this being a hidden gem on a album.
