On this adventure, you have been the cautious one, while the girl next door is pushing ahead. You're feeling a bit as if you're becoming little more than her echo, a disregarded secondary character. She just seems really determined to reach that mountain, and she hasn't noticed many of the things you have, such as that the two of you are the only ones here.
The land doesn't seem UNINHABITED, exactly. It's just...empty RIGHT NOW. You're on a road, and you think you may even see houses in the distance, but there are no signs of life, even from animals. You're about to point this out when...
...Oh, great. The girl next door has developed magic powers. She waves a hand, and you both speed up, your feet only barely touching the ground. She seems surprised for about a second; then her natural confidence takes over. The rest of the trip to the mountain is all your companion waving her hands and experimenting with the magic she can suddenly do. It's not just speed; she can bounce you both up into the air, lift objects with her mind, and, for some reason, create deep holes in the road.
You try waving your hands too, but nothing happens. Maybe you ARE a secondary character.
We're back to the piano just in time for the girl next door and her leitmotif to take over the music and force it to go her way.

I can definitely see this as traveling music for the cautious one and the girl next door. Very nice.

Do we trust the girl next door? I'm not sure I do. Super-confident people that work out their magical powers on the fly worry me.
Lovely playing - the bass notes really root the more flighty top end. Like the characters maybe?

beautiful! I love the idea that the girl next door's motif comes back to signify her importance. and I'm team cautious girl. Rooting for her to have an important role :O
