Electronic funk with voice distortion (ideally) worthy of Cordelia from Shakespeare's King Lear
(spoken, cheesily) I love you more than life itself!
Integrity
Dismisses me
Suicidality
Is no benchmark
Of love
Quite technically
Hyperbole
Of love you see
Is no benchmark
Of love
(Solo)
So joyously
Not all of me
Humanity
Is no benchmark
Of love
More honesty
Less honesty
Quite tactfully
Is no benchmark
Of love

I enjoyed this lyric according to my bond: no more, no less.
On a more serious note: I've been reading through your output this year and it is this one that resonated with me the most. Poetry's power comes from its ability to use a few words to mean a lot, and this is minimalism used to great effect. Almost iconoclastic in the way it dismisses things that have long been held up as the very definition of love - one only need look around this site to see these in the foundations of many of the songs.
The polysyllabic rhymes come thick and fast, and have a buffeting cadence - suitable for such truth bombs.
I don't mind the cheesy setup, myself, especially as we launch straight into deconstruction for the rest of the piece.

@kahlo2013 You might be right!! I always teeter slightly uncomfortably between the serious and the not-so serious!

Very poetic and would be really powerful in a spoken word piece on a backdrop of music … I think it might be most powerful without a cheesy first first line as I think the other lines in their conciseness are compelling and thought provoking.
