For some strange reason, I was inspired - on today, of all cloyingly pink days - to write a little something for my wire.
Weird.
I'm playing my four string license plate guitar, tuned to open G and into an amp. This might be fun to flesh out for a full(er) country combo.
I don’t mind when the sun don’t shine
And the rain soaks my clothes right through
The weather’s fine
As long as I’m next to you
Each day brings another dozen things
That try to grind me down into a goo
But I don’t mind
As long as I’m coming home to you
So won’t you kiss me in the morning
And kiss me when you say good night
If the modest amount in the bank account
Never grows no matter what we do
That’s fine by me
As long as I don’t run out of you
You’re the only thing I’m wanting
So kiss me when you turn out the light
I must’ve done something right to get you in my life
But what it was I haven’t a clue
I made you my wife
And I’m never letting go of you
I made you my wife
And I’m never letting go of you

Sweet lyrics. Your wife must be a lucky one!
