So the website really inspired me today. The crazy bright colors and the "One Note Melody" challenge. I made a bassline that only ever uses the A note, and on electric guitar I only ever played an A chord...
The rest was my attempt to explain my observations on apathy, the clothing industry, and the social classes.
We bought the colors
that we’ve never worn before
We wear the colors
That relieve us from the war
We bought the colors that can
tantalize the mind
We wear the colors
That absolve us of the times
Brighter Colors, Brighter Colors
We wear them all
Despite the others, the others
Brighter Colors, Brighter Colors
We’ll wear them all
and spite the others, the others
We bought the colors
From our favorite clothing store
We wear the colors
That were mixed in by the poor
We bought the colors that can
make us feel resigned
We wear the colors
That we’d like to hide behind
Brighter Colors, Brighter Colors
We wear them all
Despite the others, the others
Brighter Colors, Brighter Colors
We’ll wear them all
and spite the others, the others
Red, white, green, blue, yellow, really suit you
Turquoise, amethyst, why does this feel wrong then?
Auburn, beige, blond, poverty is raging on, and on… and
Pink and bronze heal, tell me
does apathy go well with cherry?
Cobalt, coral red, sea green, lilac
Paid by the others who we could never pay back,
Paid by the others that we’ll never pay back,
Paid by others so that you can wear your blue
Brighter Colors, Brighter Colors
We wear them all
Despite the others, the others
Brighter Colors, Brighter Colors
We’ll wear them all
and spite the others, the others

What a cool idea. I'm trying to think of songs that have this approach....hmmm.... Maybe Shudder to Think's X French T-Shirt, but nothing like that. This sounds awesome, but I'm not sure how you succeeded!! Wow, this is a great song and your words are right up my alley. Well done!

This is wonderful- love the approach and the very perceptive message within. Love that driving (love that bass staying in A!) music as well! Great build into the final verse that really hits home.
(and a ps- thanks so much for your generous comment on the four track tape thing 'far from home', really glad it resonated..)

This is great. The single bass note and guitar chord never get tired - a sign of a really cool song that such a huge limitation isn't a problematic. Enjoyed this a lot!

Like the bass. Has anyone told you before, that you sound just like Jarvis Cocker? Love it.
