Just lyrics for now
Pocket
Today I counted my loose change
And let it fall through my fingers
Into my old trouser pocket
I bought a book I wouldn’t read
And some food I didn’t need
So that I had something to do
Under the brightest moon
Drifting through the trees and thorns
Where the scene was silver lit
I wondered what lay in the shadows
I imagined it was her, waiting
I wondered how and why she would see me
I came across some peace
Unexpected and welcome I lingered
And enjoyed the timeless solace
Then from the darkened spaces
Came a familiar and disparate gaze
I realised there was no shining in this darkness
Then time took a sidestep
And it was later than I thought
She I dreamt of, once again memory
And I counted my loose change
And let it fall through my fingers
Into my old trouser pocket
