A love song of sorts, though the only optimistic part of it might be the title.
TOMORROW
If you’re looking for a janitor to clean up your mess
If you’re looking for a priest who can make you confess
Anytime you’re ready to settle for less.
I’m your man
If you’re tired of the drama, we can cut to the chase
If you ever want to disappear without a trace
If you want to trap yourself between a rock and a hard place
I’m your man
If you advertise well, you can buy or sell
Whatever you need. I don’t ask, I don’t tell.
At the end of your rope, at the end of the line,
I’ll be your last ditch and you can be mine.
If you’re looking for a hand to fit inside your glove
If you wonder what to do when push has come to shove.
You’ll notice that I never said a word about love.

This one has lodged itself in my brain. I’ve been walking around singing: I’ve got my head up my ass, my head in the sand, baby I’m your man

I love the way that piano sounds. It takes me back to small town churches of my youth. The chords have a sort of happy/sad quality. I could hear this played in the '80s with chorused guitar. Great lyric! There's something self-deprecating with all that talk of settling and being mutual last ditches, but that's life, really. Ooh, that last line hits hard. I guess none of us is living in a fairy tale. There's something beautiful about "settling" in this sense. Lovely song
