Feb 2022 acoustic-rock acoustic-one-take acoustic love-song valentine
True story, mostly. I suppose appropriate for Val-Day. It's about as close as I get to something like that.
You were riding on a 10 speed bicycle
I had a Yashica thirty five millimeter
You wore short shorts cycling my way
A smile that could melt all the legs off a caterpillar
We were introduced by a friend who was mutual
He was standing there trying to look scary
I had to make a move so I asked could you please
Fall off your bike and let’s get married
And the years have come and gone
Every one a special one
Loaded with all of the things
That keep our hearts pumpin’
I would never trade them in
Or change a single moment
I tried to think of one
But I couldn’t think of nothin’

Nice Valentines-y love story! Great details and imagery. The "melt all the legs off a caterpillar" line made me laugh. Good listen!

You have the best lyrics. [pause] Details upon request. I mean, telling someone to fall off their bike in that manner is not only brilliant for the song, it's brilliant as a real life thing.
Nothing wrong with the way you sing and set them either but I gotta admire the first thing!

The caterpillar line made me smile! A lovely tribute to what sounds like a wonderful paftnership

Oooh Nice.
I like the: melt all the legs off a caterpillar & fall off your bike lines.
Acoustic guitar sounds nice and the double tracked vocals do too.
