Relationships have all sorts of beginnings and endings but slipping ones hand into ones betrothed tells you everything and is often the last thing we feel at the end.
Her hand in his
V1:
She said she loved him on a cold still lake,
As she put her paddle in,
He said he loved her on an evening train,
First time he’d been sincere.
V2:
She said she loved him on the very first date,
When she touched his calloused skin,
He said he loved her when he saw her pray,
as he dropped that thick veneer.
Chorus:
Turning tides, opening lines, all that stuff we’ve seen,
Touching thoughts, flowers at work, not sure what they all mean.
When the chips are down and love’s grown thin,
And the eye’s have lost their sheen,
True love drops its velvet shroud, that's all that’s ever been.
Interlude:
V3:
She said she loved him like a good old mate,
Not what he was hopin’.
He said he loved her anyway,
So she took him, finally in.
Her hand in his,
Her hand in his,
Her hand in his, Her hand in his,
Her hand, her hand in his
V4:
She said she loved him in the pouring rain,
And he fell so deeply in,
He said he loved her in his darkest days,
As she slipped her hand in his.
Her hand in his, (lots of them)

Nicely done. Her hand in his is a lovely line and a lovely catch chorus. I really enjoyed this.

Nice song. The theme of love is almost another character, besides the two main subjects, it seems to me. Lyrics are both romantic and still realist at the same time

Beautiful imagery and well set to music. Shows all the colours of a love affair.

Nice write! The contrasts draw out the two characters well, and the vocal is perfect for their story.
