I thought FAWM was over for me because I lost my momentum for a few days, but here is an attempt to come back!
I handle a school writers club, and we had a valentines-themed exercise of writing a love letter between two inanimate objects, inspired by Sarah Kay’s “Love letter from a toothbrush to a bicycle tire”. So I made that my prompt for this song.
ALSO, have you ever had that strange connection with someone on the subway or in the waiting room or in the grocery store, where there’s a spark, and your mind goes on to imagine what could have been for the two of you if you had met in a more ideal situation? This is also about that :)
You would’ve seen me from a mile a way
If you hadn’t been so worn out of shape
I’m even wearing my best color today
Bet you didn’t notice that
But you caught me just in time
For a fleeting brush of fate
For a fading glimpse of what could have been
Well that sure was interesting
Imagine what could happen
If we only had a chance
Wish I could stay longer and be bolder
But at least we made a mark
That we’ll remember somehow
Forgive me I’m so sweaty
I’m so nervous, you’re so bright
I know I must look tired
‘Cause I’m trying really hard
Not to fall for you
But you caught me just in time
For a fleeting brush of fate
For a fading glimpse of what could have been
Well that sure was interesting
Imagine what could happen
If we only had a chance
Wish I could be stronger, hold on longer
But at least we made a mark
That we’ll remember somehow
We could keep wondering
or just be grateful for the moment
I know it’s short-lived, but it’s ours
I wish this memory won’t be so disposable for you
‘Cause I know I’d stick around if only I could
Glad you caught me just in time
For a fleeting brush of fate
For a precious glimpse of what could have been

You really have this style down. If this album contains these FAWM songs as-is, it'll be a very enjoyable and soothing experience for your listeners.
From the catchy vocals, the great soft voice, relatable lyrics, and that pretty uke, one can't help but sway and enjoy this.
These are cool concepts for the song. I'm not much of a writer, but that prompt is kinda inspiring me to want to write something.
Eh, I'll just listen to this song instead lol
And geez...def have been in random mundane situations and saw someone and had an entire life with them in my head. Then the line moves or the red light changes or my order is ready and just like that, that person is never thought of again lol
Yeah, your songs the kind I can put on just listen to a whole albums' worth.

Lovely presentation, and I really smart write here. I love the melody and some of your inner rhymes are so nice. Great job.

Oh I really love this. Your voice and the uke work so well together.

*sigh*
Wow, Aniya... This is just
so lovely.
Your voice is amazing! And it delivers these lyrics in such a sweet way. Very clever idea but honestly if I didn't know the back story about it being prompted from inanimate objects it is SO relatable to that fleeting eye contact one might have with a stranger.
And yes... that has happened to me a couple of times. In fact, there is one person that even (believe it or not) 15 years later I remember. Just wasn't the right time or place. Maybe in the next life.
I hope you keep going through the rest of the month. I so enjoy your songs and voice.
