Mournful Old Timey,...on high speed
693- Gone Too Soon ©2022 by Rob Lincoln double dropped D (no capo)
In the howling of the hound
Beyond the shadow light
In the glowing of the moon
Soon it will be night
In the windy shaking trees
Shuddering in the air
In the solemn sound that dims
And says it is not fair
Sudden sense of ruin
You were gone too soon
In the simple scent of dawn
That crawls before the day
As the thickening cold surrounds
There’s little else to say
Sudden sense of ruin
You were gone too soon
In the echo of the wind
High above the hill
In the darkening of the sky
I love you still
(Optional- Despite the darkening of the sky- I love you still)

Nice guitar work! I like the sudden sense of ruin.

This is intense. At first it just seems like lines, but then I get the whole thing at once. It's love. It's everywhere. It never goes away. The chorus brings a different mood into the song. Effective change.

These lyrics are really quite lovely and thoughtful. I would leave the original “In the darkening” line, I think it’s more effective that way. Well done!!
