Feb 2022 guy-with-guitar acoustic-one-take s021322 skirmish songskirmish valentine
Looked around my room and outside and described what I saw. Then felt a little sad-panda about Valentine's Day so here's a semi-autobiographical song.
t's that noise after the snow fall
When the streets are scraped clear
Footfalls pock the sidewalk
As the sun goes down
There's snow on the willow's branches
That melts into the sky
The radiator wheezes
While waiting round to die
He's swaddled beneath the sunset
While incense burns away
Laid out on the couch
Trying to stay warm
Would you be my valentine?
Then sends a smiley face to him
In a free moment
I'm thinking about you
I'll see you tonight
The streets weren't bad on the ride home
He caught all the green lights
Made it home in record time
And how she did smile
Would you be my valentine?
If you have to ask
She's probably not
If she was you'd already know
She still waters the evergreen
A little life in the kitchen
And hums an afterthought
Promptly forgotten
Would you be my valentine?

You have a wonderfully soft voice in this song that underlines the lyrics. I also like the guitar playing, the chosen reverb is very nice.

All I can say is this was just a really lovely song. Heartfelt singing, tender words and interesting chord progression.

You're good in describing sceneries. The atmosphere you created is great. You and your guitar that's all. Ans enough. I lift my hat.

I like the 'in the moment' descriptions and scene-setting. That bridge really works! Lovely guitar and vocals.

Lovely and atmospheric and enveloping in its atmosphere of loneliness and hope. I can see the movie montage that this song is the soundtrack for, and it's all very affecting.

Oh I love this! Gorgeous guitar and such vivid images!

Great imagery throughout. I especially like "snow on the willow's branches that melts into the sky". Beautiful vocal delivery- reminds me quite a bit of Jeff Buckley in the amount and control of vibrato.

Your guitar playing is so nice, you can lose yourself just listening to it. The lyrics and vocals just add more loveliness to the whole thing.

This is beautiful - such vulnerability in your voice. Very nicely done!
