Sometimes you sit down with a vague idea and are blown away by what comes out, so it was tonight.
I sat in a car for 4 hours today, 2 hour drive each way. It is unusual I'm on my own in the car for a longer journey, so I listened to all sorts of music up loud, tried to get under the skin of why I liked certain tracks. It was great fun, but I didn't listen to any tracks like this!
Either my Roland Juno GI can't do loops or more likely I haven't figured out how to do it yet. Therefore this is 3 minutes 42 seconds of me playing live on several tracks, pure improv although it took quite a long time to choose the right sounds.
One of the tracks was already arpegiated, which I fiddled around with a little.....well, anyway.
I hope you enjoy, no loops here.....

I love spending car time for deep diving into music. I like how you use what could feel like limitations - no loops, only 8 tracks, to spur creativity. Constraints can be so freeing. I like this track a lot, and I'm intrigued because I have no idea what it would look like to play live and create this.

To think this is all improvisated, sounds amazing to me. Everything goes so well together. Its not that I do have that much time to think about my melodies and harmonies either, but at least I don't have to come up with anything right in the spot.

Great ambience! I like the layering of the different sounds you've chosen. They give the piece a lot of wonderful texture.

Thanks Paul. To be honest I was so taken aback by the track, I didn't know what to tag it! Interestingly I tried the percussion up high and down low and went with the former. It creates a different track depending which you choose, didn't try it without the perc though.....

I know you've tagged it dance, but I think there's a lot more going in here. I really like the whole ambience of the piece. The key changes are sometimes unexpected, which keeps it interesting. I was guessing where it would go next, but you were throwing me curve balls.
if I have any critique to offer, it would be to maybe tame that kick sound a little. It slightly overpowers the ambient layers you've got going here.
And, being a bit radical, maybe try a mix without the percussion for more of an ambient, soundtrack feel? As always though, that's an opinion. Feel free to ignore it. ;-)

Great movement! Reminds me a bit of Juno Reactor. Glad you were able to take advantage of all that driving time, it sounds like it paid off!
