I do lyrical themes every year and this year’s theme is the previous year - same theme as last year…since we seem to be on repeat.
And these are dark times! Though I'm also working on some funny ones.
I was planning to try this as an acoustic one-take but I changed my mind - thinking it's better with a few tracks.
Virtue of an angel
Patience of a saint
She's full of vim and vigor
'Til one day she ain't
Fate ain’t faking how
It’s going down
But fate can take a number
I’m sticking around
Til they carry me away
From a one Hearse town
To get me back to nature
Or maybe another round
Nobody gets out of here alive
I ain’t quite ready now
To cross to the other side
Nobody gets out of here alive
But by the end of my song
I hope I played a good long while

Nice write: "one hearse town" is wry fun. Love the meta-take on the current song as the measure of the singer's life.

I really like the "one hearse town" line, as well as the last two lines (took me a second to get it, though). Feels to me like it could be a bit faster.
