Feb 2022 electronic electronica instrumental dreamwave slow fawmtronica no-excuses
While I'm working on more elaborate pieces, I like to throw slowly moving sound-tapestries into the mix. Need to clear my mind sometimes, and this is one of those songs. I thoroughly enjoy listening to these kinds of meandering, echoing melodies, and yet I always want to add more elements, more stuff. I refrained from that here. Hope you enjoy it!

Less is sometimes more. Something I'm never happy with how I pull off and almost always add more until its too much, and then add some more just for good measure :D
That bass is huge and so comforting. There is a lot of room in here, but everything is so nicely placed its just more good room to get lost in. I gave this a few listens and enjoyed it even more the second time around. I'd qualify this as #slotchcore as well ;)

So floaty and flowing, this is great study/working music, calming while still keeping my senses engaged and interested. I can see the desire to add more elements- there's so much *space* but that's also what I like about it. There's room to think.

Great texture. I like how the deep reverberating bass drum gives the sound depth without being overbearing. :)

I can definitely see how this lovely piece would be conducive to working productively on something, maybe not music though. It would make a great backdrop for working on writing a book or perhaps for studying for an exam. I like this piece a lot. Very enjoyable.

This sound has a mostly light, sunny, floating in a boat feeling, but that interesting break at 2:03 or so gives the feeling that some slight bit of mysterious danger (maybe a crocodile bumping up to the boat, if we are thinking Mangrove swamps?) before it passes and we are back to the soaring relaxed synths.

After having shower thoughts that leaned toward the more depressing side of things, wanting another cup of coffee but knowing I don't need more caffeine, staring at stupid things done by other people in the systems I work on at work...I listen to this and it captures my mood perfectly.
I like these slow atmospheric pieces, too. Especially when the pads are so lush and lovely like these. Blankets.
The piano on top is a great decision and it really is pretty but also somber and sad.
Slow beat works really nicely here due to the drum choices - great snap/stick/clap.
Yeah that soft pad is letting me sink into it until I'm no longer here, just swimming in it.

So interesting to read how you work. Sounddesign has always been my deficiency. You greeted a great cinematic soundtrack. I didn't expect these weird percussions. What about adding some spoken or whispers vocals?
@fullyfunctional Feb 2022
I know what you mean about wanting to add more. But this works the way it is! Could easily see this in a TV show / movie.
@standup Feb 2022
I can't seem to get this one to play.
Edited to add: it works now. I like the melody then the piano. The low percussion adds a lot. There's space for a vocal, not sure if it needs it.
I like the descending B part too, this has a good feel.
I like the decrescendo around 2:00, the break.
