this was inspired by all the rom-com books i've been reading over the pandemic that helped me cope!
also inpsired by the "christmas wrapping" song by the waitresses - i always loved how it told a little rom-com story in the lyrics
(it did pain me a bit to write about somebody not liking tea [i'm addicted!] or coffee but i had to remind myself it wasn't about me!)
Verse1
(C) I confess, (Am) I don't like tea
(F) I come each day (C) to see you smile at me
(C) you catch my eye (Am) I bite my lip
(F) you graze my hand (C) with your fingertip
Verse2
You call my name, saying "STOP!
You left your keys on the counter top!"
This game I play, for one more smile
Lights you up, it's so worthwhile
[chorus]
(G) I fall in love too easily
(Am) In full daydreams you (C) run to me
(G) A kiss as sweet as my cup of tea
(F) My steamy barista and (C) me
Verse3
Your number's on my coffee cup
Finally, I can call you up
I ask you out that very night
We talk for hours it feels so right
[chorus2]
Verse4
By dessert, when they say
"Coffe or tea?" I blurt "No way!"
The air is thick with our chemistry
your kiss it brings me to my knees
[Chorus3]

That's worthy of a John Hughes film. Yeah, that dates me. But it's true! :)

Wow, I like this rhythm, a great guitar tune! Very nice song idea, I have never listened to a song like this before that combines "tea" and "coffee" with a love story in such an awesome way!

Truth be told, I've also been known to read rom-com books to escape over the past few years. This song does a great job of capturing that airiness and happiness that a good rom-com can deliver; thank you for this delightful song and bringing a smile to my face!

Baristas are hot, I agree! Fun story, like your vocals

love these lyrics, like - stop! you left your keys on the countertop - nice! I fall in love too easily and all of the tea/coffeeshop references, steamy barrister - lots of awesome lyrics that made me smile.
