The old days
In the myriad of places that I’ve been
I’ve seen traces of the place where I grew up
And she used to hold my hand
I played with my old band
I wish I could go back there again
I wish I could go back there again
Late at night I recall
How I really had it all
But I didn’t know it back then
Now that girl is long gone
That band has played its last song
But I wish I could go back there again
But I wish I could go back there again
They say you can’t go back home
But sometimes when I’m alone
I pretend that is not true
The next song of the band begins
I feel the softness of her skin
I wish I could go back there again
I wish I could go back there again

Lovely nostalgic vibe. I love your voices together and the whole thing makes for a great listen.

Jeff and Suzanne - This is beautiful. I like how you say so much with so few words. The harmonies and the guitar really convey that feeling of longing in the music and words.

“And she used to hold my hand / And I played with my old band” is a beautiful couplet that captures so much. As always the harmonies are lovely, and the guitar feel (chorus? 12-string? Doubled?) is very rich. In some ways this reminds me of early Fairport stuff.

Really cool country twang! I loved the backup harmonies. The lyrics have such a longing to them also, it's great so evocative!
