Song No. 7.
Well, so much for my pledge of staying simple and lo fi production for this FAWM….. It must be an affliction of some kind. Anyway, this is a song about how we need to skew our perspective to make sense of the world we live in. Otherwise, we could dissipate into despair.
That and I also had fun with a device that has a setting called ‘Voice of God’. You’ll know it when you hear it!
All The Love Inside – © Paul Cogley Feb 2022
Verse
For some time now, I’ve been thinking of you.
You know that we, had a good thing going.
We could talk, Until the sun came up
All the Fun that we had-
I can’t deny there were times, we said hurtful things.
And I cried.
When I think of the things that we said,
I wish I could take it back.
I wish I could take it back.
Chorus
Every day, in every way,
Refusing to change our opinions
It undermines, and redefines,
The way that we look,
The way that we talk,
The way that we laugh,
The way that we cry,
The way that we love,
The way that we see the world as it is,
It takes all the love inside
to see the world as it is.
Verse
I lost you in a crowd, I don’t know where you got,
Went wandering off
Or was that me? I kinda think that was me.
The world went mad, left us counting the days (1, 2, 3, 4)
Doesn’t really matter if it’s good or bad.
Check the book,
But silence isn’t empty, it’s full of cures,
We just forgot to look.
Just forgot to look
Chorus
Bridge
Who was it that said,
You should follow your heart.
Wise words in these times of change.
As it takes all the love inside to see.
The world as it is.
Chorus - Outro
The way that we look,
The way that we talk,
The way that we laugh,
The way that we cry,
The way that we love,
The way that we see the world as it is,
It takes all the love inside
to see the world as it is.

Great guitars, sounds and vocals! I love the chorus. The voice of God made me smile. The production was worth the effort! Adding those production touches are contagious here on fawm, I think, in an wonderfully inspiring way!

Cool write. The wish to take back just one hurtful word, one wrong choice, is so universal. "Silence isn't empty" is a terrific line.
*Vox Dei* is an awesome stop on a pipe organ: fun to hear its equivalent crash in here.
If "full production" is an affliction, we are at least not alone here.
